It was clear that our house have some energy issues and was in need of a any type of energy overhaul.  The report that was prepared for us by Charlie and his office staff, was comprehensive, clear to understand and revealed that the ducts at the attic  was not sized appropriately. In addition to that, the furnace/AC in the smaller unit was old (and original) and had to be replaced. The recommendations that Charlie told us, included a new furnace/AC, new tankless water system, hot water pipe insulation, building sealing, the insulation and new ducting throughout the house. This was the best investment we ever made.  I could not believe the difference in our utilities bill.  Charlie and his team were great,  professional and experienced. I wish we did these 15 years ago!!

"This is part two of a review for NRG Heating and Air Conditioning. The first evaluation was written as a complaint for a job completed but one that did not follow the all of the stipulations of the contract. This review is written to thank the individuals from NRG who took the first evaluation to heart and then dispatched a team to fix the areas of concern. I am delighted to report that the work completed today was done per the contract. Not only was the barrier wall built between the two condo units as originally promised, the attic was insulated with the additional blown in material, the old attic door sealed and caulked, pictures taken, and the area left clean and tidy. I am most grateful to the general manager, the quality control manager, as well as the insulators who made sure the job was finished per the original contract. NRG should be recognized as a company that not only took the time to read a customer service review but then acted, in a timely manner, to resolve the issues addressed in the complaint. "Roberto was the technician and he was very professional, polite, and personable. He inspected the rest of our system and told us things that needed to be changed or repaired. He showed me pictures of everything. Everything he told me about was accurate. He quoted me a price for R38 insulation , Some of our ducts were plastic and he recommended them to be changed. I agreed completely and didn't know they were plastic. I would have had them done the work but I had no price comparisons to make and besides I didn't have the money right then. So he just finished the vent cleaning and left his card. He did a great job on the vent cleaning and was happy with the work."

"we were very impressed with out solar endeavor. The installers came when they said they would and finished their job within the same day. We added insulation to our attic to reduce our heating and cooling for the house and replaced 2 old windows . All the guys were great from Idan who evaluated our home, office staff and installers. "It went rough, but we were both at fault. Had to say that first. But I am mostly satisfied. The outside sales person was on time for the walk through. He was nice and seemed knowledgeable. He had a lot of prior experience as a laborer before he became a sales rep. He was able to present his company and offer a quote on the spot. I agreed and gave him a deposit. Off we go. Right? Well, he based his quote on 700 square feet when it was actually 1100. That's why his price was low. You would think that I got a deal. But no. The labor crew only showed up with enough insulation for 700 SF. Not enough. So here is what we had to do. Introduce Jose. The lead man on the project. If it were not for him, it would have went south in a hurry. Turns out that Jose is a good person with a soul, and I am happy to "work with" a great person like Jose. APP is lucky to have him, and I hope they are taking good care of him. Just so you don't think I am fake, the "helper" that Jose had that day was worthless. Didn't want to work because he is a 20 year old kid who was out all night drinking and chasing girls (or boys), and was hung over. I did more 90% more work than he did (yes, I helped Jose. I have a good soul too). I let Jose vacuum out the old stuff, then I made him stop. He understood. Come back when you have 1100SF of insulation. Right? Before he took off, Jose up-sold me on insulating the bottom of my house (in between the floor joists under the sub floor)(under the house), applying a radiant barrier in the attic and switching from blown in cellulose with the pink panther batts. I ended up insulating under the house by myself. Nice. I communicated that to APP, but it got lost in translation. When the day arrived that Jose returned with 1100SF of material to finish the job, he showed up with two helpers. BTW, I had to request the APP office to please make sure Jose was who they sent to complete my job. Regardless of my implicit instructions that I subsequently made with the APP office, that I changed my mind and now want blown in cellulose again, and NO radiant barrier, Jose and crew still showed up with pink panther batts and radiant barrier. Whatever. The crew is there, lets get to work. The reason I only give them a B is because they installed the radian barrier wrong (in my opinion). I did research and radiant barrier should be one inch from the roof sheeting (plywood) if it's hot southern California. They stapled it to the 2x4 rafters so it's really 3-1/2 inches from the sheeting. Not sure if it is even radiating anything at this point. I think I just wasted a $1000. Even so, my neighbor asked me who did the job, and I ended up giving them the APP biz card, so I guess that was kind of a recommendation."

"Contracted with SCCCA to replace all old aluminum windows and sliding glass doors in my home with new vinyl double-pane glass versions. Initial appointment to measure windows was kept promptly. The job foreman for the job came to do the measurements himself along with a co-worker. He explained what would be done during the installation and took the measurements they needed.  I received follow-up calls the next 2 weeks, giving me an update on the status of my window construction. Installation was confirmed for the original date promised.  The installation crew showed up promptly as scheduled, did some initial prep work covering nearby flooring and furniture and began the removal/replacement process. Removal went smoothly. Prep work for the new windows included a great deal of attention paid to application of the sealant adhesives and insulation. New windows and doors were installed with a lot of attention being paid to details like how easily the latches worked, the slide motion of the windows/doors, etc.  I was very impressed with the quality of the work done as I observed the entire process from removal to final sealing, caulking and cleaning.  

Overall, I would highly recommend SCCCA, the installation crew and the quality of the Anlin windows I purchased."
