"I received a prompt reply from the business after calling for an estimate. My pool is being fully serviced for a reasonable amount--particularly considering the age of my pool and the distance Joe has to travel to get to us. He sends a text when he's on his way, so we can make sure the gate is unlocked and the dog is in. I have absolutely no complaints."

"I have been using Classic Pool Service at 5 different properties since 2015. Norman Carpenter and his company are great. He has done scheduled monthly pool maintenance services as well as pool equipment repairs, on an "as needed" basis. I have used other companies and am very happy that I have found Norman with Classic Pool! I will continue using them and have recommended them as well."

Pool and Spa Servicing questions, answered by experts

You should drain your hot tub three to four times a year to give it a thorough cleaning. This should take about an hour, but it depends on the size of your tub.

Yes, but only if it is a freshwater tub (not saltwater) and if you make sure the chlorine and bromine levels are below 1 ppm.

Most hot tub cracks can be repaired unless they have gone beneath the acrylic. If so, you may need a professional to determine if the crack is repairable or if you should consider hot tub replacement instead.

Where you drain a hot tub largely depends on local regulations, but you must not drain chemically treated water where it can damage the environment. Direct the water toward a sanitary sewer drain that will take it to a treatment facility. If your lawn has a dedicated drainage area that’s free from plants and foundations, you can likely drain it there. Avoid storm drains, as the hot tub water will enter waterways and could hurt aquatic life. Likewise, do not pour it out directly on any public land or where it can get into your neighbors’ property.

A compact unit designed for two to three people typically weighs approximately 500 pounds in its empty state. On the other hand, a larger hot tub meant for up to six people can weigh around 1,000 pounds when empty. Materials used also impact weight. Less expensive hot tubs are typically lighter because they are made of molded plastic or fiberglass.
