"We highly recommend Barry of Dunn Wright Renovators. He remodeled our home office in Carlsbad after a flood and put it back together better than before; he remodeled our new home we purchased in Temecula, which included kitchen redo, all new moulding in the home, garage cabinets and new floor etc. etc.. He was on the job daily and no whining why he couldn't be there to work. He is a perfectionist and my husband admitted "Barry knows more than I do about construction." He is a joy to work with. He is patient, he listens and he aims to please. We will continue to use him and have recommended him to all our friends. He never complains about anything and does everything while being in a good mood! Love this guy. Our daughter will be using him soon so he can remodel their closets, install can lights and make a new wall cabinet in their family room for storage. He is one in a million. I am so glad we met him years ago as he has made our lives easier! I swear there isn't anything this man can't do....seriously. Oh, forgot to mention he made this wonderful patio cover to house our new above ground spa. which will be coming sometime before June. Oh, he also has good suggestions on whatever project you want done.....listen to him....he will be right. Can't wait to have you come again Barry....we have more projects for you to do!!! We miss seeing you every day....you are like family."

"Our kitchen remodel with McCormick Home Builders went beyond our expectations. Leoni and her team took the time to understand exactly what we wanted. The open layout design changed the way we use the space, and it’s been perfect for family gatherings. They were prompt, courteous, and genuinely invested in making sure we were happy. Customers say: Quick response

"I recently hired Zachary Knox to renovate a very large built-in entertainment center. He did a great job in preserving some elements of the previous unit while at the same time updating the overall look and functionality. His craftsmanship is outstanding. Zack is the consummate professional. Responsive, organized, detail oriented and very pleasant to work with. I was very impressed with his work and his work ethics. He took the extra steps up front to protect my flooring and furniture and kept the work space clean throughout the process. I would highly recommend hiring him for your carpentry projects."

Closets questions, answered by experts

A "reach-in pantry" is a smaller, cabinet-style pantry that allows you to grab items by simply reaching inside. On the other hand, a "walk-in pantry" is like a closet or small room that offers a larger space that you can physically enter to get your food. Walk-in pantries allow for more customizable shelving. A reach-in pantry is usually around 5 feet wide by 2 feet deep, while a walk-in pantry is closer to 5 feet by 5 feet or larger.

Closet design services include help designing and laying out your closet for maximum utility, visual appeal, and return on investment. Many closet designers can also include the carpentry required to construct your custom closet. You should speak with your designer beforehand to determine what services are included in the estimate, and prepare to lay out additional funds for materials or labor as needed.

Plywood offers excellent stability and strength for drawer construction. Baltic birch plywood provides a premium appearance, while standard hardwood plywood offers good value. Solid wood works well but requires more attention to grain direction and seasonal movement.

The vertical space between closet shelves depends on what you're storing. For clothing like shirts and sweaters, 10 to 12 inches is enough. Towels and linens need 12 to 15 inches, while tall storage bins may require 18 inches or more. Overcrowding your shelves can reduce accessibility and increase clutter, so be sure to leave breathing room for your items.

The differences between a built-in closet and a walk-in aren’t that different from a built-in wardrobe and a walk-in closet. It’s fairly simple—a walk-in closet is a closet you can physically enter, stand in, and walk around in. A built-in (whether wardrobe or closet) is more akin to covered shelves installed into a recess in the wall. Another big difference is walk-in closets almost always have traditional full-size doors, while built-ins either have no doors or use sliding doors.
