"We highly recommend Barry of Dunn Wright Renovators. He remodeled our home office in Carlsbad after a flood and put it back together better than before; he remodeled our new home we purchased in Temecula, which included kitchen redo, all new moulding in the home, garage cabinets and new floor etc. etc.. He was on the job daily and no whining why he couldn't be there to work. He is a perfectionist and my husband admitted "Barry knows more than I do about construction." He is a joy to work with. He is patient, he listens and he aims to please. We will continue to use him and have recommended him to all our friends. He never complains about anything and does everything while being in a good mood! Love this guy. Our daughter will be using him soon so he can remodel their closets, install can lights and make a new wall cabinet in their family room for storage. He is one in a million. I am so glad we met him years ago as he has made our lives easier! I swear there isn't anything this man can't do....seriously. Oh, forgot to mention he made this wonderful patio cover to house our new above ground spa. which will be coming sometime before June. Oh, he also has good suggestions on whatever project you want done.....listen to him....he will be right. Can't wait to have you come again Barry....we have more projects for you to do!!! We miss seeing you every day....you are like family."

Closets questions, answered by experts

Custom closet renovations offer a return on investment of 50% to 60%. This means that if you spend $2,000 on a closet remodel, you can expect to see your home's value increase by $1,000 to $1,200. Investing in a custom closet allows you to enhance your daily living experience while building equity.

Bedrooms and living rooms generally cost the least to remodel. Of course, the project price will depend on what you're planning to do to the space and the cost of the materials you choose to incorporate. Prices are typically lower than those of other remodels because major plumbing, electrical, and HVAC work isn't often part of remodeling these rooms.

We use storage in nearly every room of the house, so it's no surprise that we lose track of things from time to time. The best way to organize storage is to declutter each year to cut down on auxiliary items that can be donated or tossed. Once you decide what's worth keeping, create an inventory list for all boxes you won't open for at least six months.

The vertical space between closet shelves depends on what you're storing. For clothing like shirts and sweaters, 10 to 12 inches is enough. Towels and linens need 12 to 15 inches, while tall storage bins may require 18 inches or more. Overcrowding your shelves can reduce accessibility and increase clutter, so be sure to leave breathing room for your items.

If you’re on a tight budget, the least expensive material you can buy for DIY closet shelves is chipboard, a.k.a. particle board. This inexpensive material is made from a pulp of sawdust, resin, and glue that’s pressed together under high temperature and pressure. As you can imagine, it’s not very sturdy and might buckle under your blue jean collection, so you should only use it if you’re storing very light items.
