"Clear source is a wonderful water softener company! They made sure the instillation was at a convenient time and date that worked perfectly with my schedule. I am so glad I got a water softener and reverse osmosis. My skin is soft and moisturized now! Even better, I donâ t have to buy water anymore. Also, I use less detergent to wash my dishes which leaves more money to spend on vacations with my family. I would recommend them without hesitation."

"We had a dead tree leaning directly in line with our cabin. He managed to drop the tree directly away from our cabin without any damage to the structure. This is the guy to call if you need any sort of tree work. Top notch service and very professional."

"I have used Blanco Lanscaping since since I bought my Carmel Valley Village home in 2017. Gerardo and his son Jerry do high quality work at a very reasonable price. No job too big or small. In addition to general landscaping jobs (tree trimming, weed removal, hauling, etc.), I hired Gerardo to replace a ~120 foot section of rotted redwood fencing. Extremely happy with the result! He has also done 2 outdoor patios with stone pavers. Again, extremely happy with the results! Gerardo and Jerry are talented, honest, hard working guys who produce quality workmanship at very reasonable prices. I give Blanco Landscaping a big thumbs up."

Snow Removal questions, answered by experts

It’s possible to use a torch to melt ice on your garage door, but we don’t recommend it. It’s very easy to bring the flame too close to the door, which can melt the weather stripping or even the garage door itself. You’ll melt ice quickly with a torch, but the damage you’re likely to cause can end up costing you a few hundred dollars to fix, which isn’t worth it. Instead, we recommend pouring hot water over the frozen area or using a less intense heat source, like a hair dryer or space heater.

The average cost for a single snow removal service is around $85, but can range from $40 to $200. For excessive snowfall, the price could be $500 or more, as single services are often based on the amount of snow, with every six inches adding to the total. For ongoing service, an annual snow removal contract typically costs between $200 and $600 for the season. In many cases, an annual contract is more affordable than paying per visit. The final cost is heavily influenced by your location, the amount of snowfall your area receives, property size, seasonal demand, expected response time, and any extra services like clearing a sidewalk.

You can quickly melt snow on your driveway by adding rock salt, hot water, de-icer, and other melting products. These snow removal methods will quickly melt any snow on slippery ice from your driveway, making it safer to maneuver. For a more permanent solution, consider using melting mats or installing a heated driveway system.

Both rock salt and ice melt are naturally occurring salts. Rock salt is sodium chloride, which is the same as table salt. Ice melt products can be made from a combination of salts like magnesium chloride and calcium chloride or can be those salts alone.

Rock salt comes in large crystals, so it helps provide traction on icy surfaces, whereas ice melt products need to be mixed with sand to provide traction. Ice melt products work at lower temperatures than rock salt, so they might be a better choice if you have a harsh winter climate.

Yes, most states require that snow removal companies be insured under workers' compensation. This protects the employees financially if an injury were to happen (and when dealing with ice and snow, it’s possible that injury could occur). In addition, most states require snow removal companies to be covered under general liability, which would help cover the cost of any property damage incurred during the removal process.
