"When I called for an estimate I was surprised at how quickly Mr. Straus was able to come. I knew the carpeting I wanted and he was able to get it in a reasonable time. (The carpet had to be run specially by the manufacturer.) When my remodel slowed down, he was very flexible about re-scheduling the date of installation to meet my new needs. The installation was painless, with workers arriving exactly when they said they would, cleaning up after themselves, and making seams that were almost invisible, with a single exception. "The owner, Andy Tran, came to the house to evaluate the job and give an estimate on the very same day I contacted him. He was prompt, courteous and seemingly very knowledgeable. He explained what he would do and why he had to do it that way. A competing company we'd interviewed wanted to install brand new planks to replace the old ones. Andy brought wood that had been previously installed elsewhere but that was still in good shape and it blended in perfectly with the rest of our floor. The only nit I might pick is with the slight gaps between the new planks, which Andy filled with some kind of compound, as in places it didn't quite fill the entire gap. But the job was in a corner of the room where no one will ever notice and overall it looks quite good. The installation of hardwood floor requires return trips, and we ended up leaving a key for Andy. He is a trustworthy and responsible guy. (A competitor quoted us $500 for the same job, but we still went with Andy.)"
