"The owner Mark and his crew were AWESOME! I called he came by a day later...was so friendly and professional. I had our estimate the next afternoon and it was just that easy the whole time. The crew were fantastic...great attention to detail, friendly, neat, organized and just all around good people. I told him what I needed, colors I wanted and he delivered samples and constructive ideas but never pushy. We were going to paint our inside ourselves but during the outside process we decided we needed them to do it and they were very accommodating in squeezing us in. Mark is hands on and it is very apparent in talking with Juan (the lead on-site) that Mark is well respected by his crew and that it is reciprocated. I rarely write recommendations but VIP is exactly how you will feel when you hire Mark and his crew to take care of your home, inside and out...It’s tough finding good, honest people to take care of projects but we were incredibly fortunate to have found Mark, Juan and his entire VIP family to help us."

Emergency services offered

"Frank and Misty were very responsive and professional. I called them to see if the job we wanted to have done would fit in the time frame for the service on Angies list; the coupon was for two painters for one full day at $800. The area we needed painted was about 900 square feet and they wanted to set an appointment to come out and look at the space to give the green light on the service. Frank came out and was early, which was a very nice thing. He said that they would be able to perform the service in the time frame requested. We provided the paint, cleaned the baseboards and removed the light switch plates to help aid them in getting as much painting done as possible. Frank did offer to get the paint because he is able to get the paint at a discount, but we had a family connection that allowed us even more savings. Misty, the head lady in charge, was in contact with me through out the entire process, making sure that we had the day we wanted scheduled and knew everything that was going to happen on that day. Frank came with 3 guys to paint the house. They wanted to make sure that it would get done and done right. All of them were early, which showed that they cared and respectful of our time. I was getting text messages from Frank showing progress photos as the house was getting painted. They finished early and were flawless. Great cut-ins, no bleeding over, just perfect. They did two coats and we even had some paint to spare. Frank and Misty really performed above and beyond any expectations I could have set. I would, and most likely, will use there services again.

Sandblasting Services questions, answered by experts

You can concrete can be done when it’s wet or dry. However, it’s safer when wet, as harmful dust and chemicals are present. Sanding it when dry is faster, but you’ll agitate more dust and chemicals, meaning you’ll need to be more careful.

Soda-blasting systems are slightly more expensive than sandblasting systems. To soda blast, you’ll need to spend a few hundred dollars for a blast hose and nozzle, a compressed air supply, a blast generator, a moisture decontamination system, and sodium bicarbonate media, a recurring cost because the powder is not reusable. To start with sandblasting, you will need to spend upwards of $30 for a blast pot, a blast gun, an air compressor, and sandblasting media, many of which are recyclable—further reducing the cost. The total cost for either will depend on the size of the system.

The cost of sandblasting depends on the scope of the project, the surface type, labor, and equipment required. Services typically cost between $50 and $80 per hour, though most professionals charge by surface area at a rate of $1.50 to $7 per square foot. Total project costs can range from $700 to $12,500, with an average homeowner spending around $3,200 to sandblast a 1,000-square-foot surface.

Costs depend on paint type, surface condition, labor, and required prep work for repainting.

Sanding and pressure washing serve different purposes in deck maintenance, so one is not necessarily better than the other. Pressure washing is ideal for annual cleaning to remove dirt, grime, mold, and mildew. Sanding is a deeper restoration method used to smooth rough surfaces, remove an old finish, and prepare the wood for a new coat of stain or paint. The ideal process for refinishing a deck is to first clean it (with a power washer), then sand it, and finally apply the new stain or finish. While cleaning should be done annually, sanding and staining are typically needed only every one to three years.
