"Jose and his crew did a fantastic job by trimming a cabinet and making room for a new fridge, without having to be overly invasive or replace the cabinet above the fridge. He was prompt, professional and friendly. Hire this man."

"I have extremely high expectations and John met all of them!! He is a perfectionist when it comes to his work... when he drills a hole he chases it with a shop vac! He was so clean and always left his work space how he arrived ! He is honest and that  s something very hard to find when you are having work done in your home. We have already hired him to do another project in our home. He also reads body language to ensure you get what you want, he has great sense of humor too! We had a great experience remodeling our home. Oh and he can do anything not just kitchen and bath! I highly recommend him! Thank you John!!!"

Closets questions, answered by experts

Since they are so fragile, it is not usually recommended to stack anything on top of your packed lamps. If you have sturdy boxes, and what you plan to put on top of them is of a similar weight, it’s okay to stack.

Although you can complete a closet frame in just an afternoon, finishing the entire closet will take a few days to a week. However, that’s still not as much as the average time it takes to remodel a closet, which can take anywhere from several weeks to more than a month. That’s because you also have to consider the time it will take to demolish the existing space, plan a new design, order materials, and actually install it.

Walk-in closets are always the biggest and can easily be more than 100 square feet. Primary bedroom closets, even if not walk-ins, are the second largest category in most homes and sit between 30 and 80 square feet. Linen closets, utility closets, and built-in closets are smaller and, depending on their usage, tend to be between 10 and 50 square feet.

You may need a building permit to add a closet, depending on the size and kind of work required to install it. The most likely scenario requiring a permit involves changing the structure of the house and performing electrical work for closet lighting. A permit can cost between $100 and $450. If you’re installing a smaller reach-in closet, a permit may not be required, but always check with your local municipality and consult a closet designer or builder.

Building custom cabinets or built-in furniture yourself is possible, especially for basic designs, if you have woodworking experience. For a professional result, hiring a service is recommended to ensure precision, high-quality craftsmanship, and superior finishes.
