He helped walk me through paver and plant selection to fine tune the design. Every worker on my job was polite, and professional. I really appreciate that when my very dusty work was done they did a great job cleaning up. I got a followup to be sure the new sod is doing well. I love my new yard!"

"We are seniors on a fixed income and first quoted us $1250 and I said how about $900, he said no that was labor of at least 6 hrs. So he than said $2250, so that was $1000 for supplies? So I had a picture but unable to down load of a Home Depot bucket as the form with 5 bags of fence post mix and some rebar and a total of 2 hours labor and about $50 in supplies. He did not think that was too much because of liability, he never stated that I have 3 other people that was there at that conversation even though he denies. And he never came back to remove the bucket or the 2x4 ?s he used for the deck. It took us 10 min to remove and clean up. Not a trustworthy person."

Do not hire this company. He is not trustworthy. He left on a Friday, said he would be back on Monday to finish up the work. A simple square paver patio is the easiest long-lasting patio to install. With this basic shape, you won’t have to worry about curvatures in the design or having to cut pavers to fit. You could also opt for the gravel patio, but as noted, it can be messy and you will have to refill the gravel regularly as shoes and pet paws drag it out of its intended area.

While some areas may allow for a slope of up to 20%, this is often the maximum slope for driveways, with a few exceptions of up to 25%. Other regions may have a maximum of 12%, 15%, or 18%, so check with your local building department to ensure you’re laying a driveway that is up to code for your location.

Paver patios are often considered the most durable option. Expensive options include pavers of natural stone like granite, and more affordable choices include concrete and brick. All these materials are weather-resistant and are easy to replace individually if damaged. When installed over a well-compacted base and maintained correctly, paver patios can last 50 years or more, making them a long-lasting outdoor choice.

If you're only working with a gravel pad, and there is no concrete foundation, you might be able to upgrade to a concrete slab, but you’d have to speak with a professional concrete expert to confirm and get pricing. If you have a concrete foundation or cement block walls around the area where you want to build flooring, you might be able to pour a new concrete floor over the existing one to forgo repairs. Again, speak with a concrete expert or foundation company to see if this is an option.

If you don’t put gravel under concrete, the concrete can crack, sink, bow, or crumble. Even the concrete forming process will not go as smoothly if you are working directly on the soil or bare bedrock. The lack of a proper gravel layer can also lead to drainage issues below your slab, leading to water issues throughout your lawn and around your foundation.
