"I had a bathtub replaced by a walk-in-shower. I am very pleased with the results. David and Daren were very professional, they were on time, they explained everything as they went, and they left everything very clean."

"Oak called 2nd but came next day/ UN-prepared to do either repair or water test (requested on phone) or even replace with ready new ADA toilet that the lying receptionist booker said they have “some in stock and if not he will show a catalog of choices”. Guy came punctually with Nzo tools or appliances Or knowledge of what I asked for as an “URGENT repair/replace”. See ABC review same call. Not quite as bad as them doing same since we also still have broken HVAC too, both said they would fix ( I bought gasket already, they could have put in) or replace if they brought new toilet. Problem is not in water pipes except they need testing for lead - both said they would do this too - when I asked oak re taking a sample, how long sitting in pipes? He wiped off his soda water bottle and asked “which pipes?” !!"

"I have what turned out to be a 30 year old water heater replaced by this great company and they did it the same day of the quote. The installer had the water heater I wanted on the truck and did an excellent job of putting in the new unit, cleaning up and even replacing copper flex tubing and installing a new overflow pipe out of copper as well, no additional cost. This company specializes in water heaters and couldn't do any additional work on supply lines and they clearly state that on their website. I didn't need that type of additional work."

"Great work done overall. Repaired bathtub faucet leak, plus two replacement of both faucet and handles in another bathroom. Both Robert and Marcelino were extremely knowledgeable and courteous. Slight difficulty experienced in removing the older faucets that required cutting into the marble countertop. In addition there is a small chip mark left near one sink as a result. Concerned a bit about the future impact of having the marble counters cut into to remove both faucets and a “value hit” if we decide to sell in the future. Other than this the work was great and we’re pleased and would consider using Beast Bay again."

"They were FANTASTIC! I originally used them to fix a faulty toilet I have for my business. Hassan showed up within 10 minutes of his quoted time on the day that I called. He listened to my problem, understood my concern, and promised to be there at 4;15pm. He showed up at a little past 4pm and kept me updated on hIs ETA. Super happy about that. Who wants their customers waiting longer than necessary to use the restroom? He sourced the problem, replaced the parts and had it up and running in short order. He is not only a great plumber, but is super friendly and took the time to explain the problem and how to avoid it in the future. I have since used him twice more at my house for some leaky faucets. My 2nd and 3rd experiences mirrored the one at my business. He's super reliable and I highly recommend his company."

Bathtub Replacement questions, answered by experts

Small bathroom renovation costs don’t have to break the bank. A $5,000 budget is realistic, provided you're not adding luxurious fittings or making complex layout changes. Changing the layout is the most costly aspect of renovating a bathroom. So if you keep the layout, do some of the job DIY (within your skillset), and use relatively affordable fixtures and accessories, you should be able to stay within your budget.

Start by gutting the old fixtures and features that need to be removed, such as the tile, vanity, and flooring. You may benefit by removing the toilet, even if you intend to use the same one. Next, install the new shower or tub, followed by the flooring, and then the drywall, which you should then paint. After that, install your new cabinets, vanity, countertop, sink, and faucet, in that order. Replace your light fixture next. Lastly, reconnect the toilet.

Resurfacing a bathtub is less expensive than replacing one. Resurfacing a tub costs about $330 to $630, depending on the material, while replacing a tub costs an average of $4,150. But remember that resurfacing is a temporary solution for a worn-out tub, and you may need to refinish a tub every few years to keep it looking new.

If you have an alcove in your bathroom, you don’t necessarily need to install an alcove tub. You can choose a drop-in tub and fit the frame to the alcove. This allows you to get a more custom or spa-like look. Think cultured marble or tiling for the frame versus the simpler look of acrylic or fiberglass with an alcove tub.

The order of your bathroom renovation should prevent damage to the completed work. Start with demolition and removing the old fixtures. Then, address structural repairs or water damage, if needed. Next, tackle the rough-in phase for plumbing and electrical work, install waterproofing, and work on wall treatments like tile or paint. Install your shower or bathtub, toilet, vanity, and sink. Flooring goes in after major fixtures but before the toilet. Lastly, install new lighting fixtures, mirrors, and other finishing touches as desired.
