"I was happy with the job that was done. It provides insulation plus a vapor barrier. He put in a radiant barrier. It looks almost like tinfoil. They crawled around under the house installing it. It insulates better then conventional insulation. My house is warmer when it is cool and cooler when warm."

"Old shake roof was removed, new insulation added, plywood base with roof paper cover. Then tiled over raised battens. New gutters and downspouts. Dry rot repairs and painting of new surfaces.The whole process took four days. The bid and contract were presented very thoroughly, each item of work detailed and priced. Many choices. The work crews were very pleasant. The work was done in a set order and a company rep would call to inform of the next step and when it would happen. At the conclusion of each days work the property was cleaned and as tidy as possible given the nature of the project. When finished, a company rep inspected the job and checked for any needed corrections. All in all, an outstanding contractor to work with."

"Roberto was the technician and he was very professional, polite, and personable. He inspected the rest of our system and told us things that needed to be changed or repaired. He showed me pictures of everything. Everything he told me about was accurate. He quoted me a price for R38 insulation , Some of our ducts were plastic and he recommended them to be changed. I agreed completely and didn't know they were plastic. I would have had them done the work but I had no price comparisons to make and besides I didn't have the money right then. So he just finished the vent cleaning and left his card. He did a great job on the vent cleaning and was happy with the work."

So far, no signs of these pests, but they say call anytime if I see signs. "When I started, I planned to just insulate a small area over the ceiling of my laundry room, which was always chilly, and whatever else I could get for the money I had already put out for The Deal... Whereas Rudy clearly had in mind that the visit would be the beginning of a much bigger job,and my coupon only  the tip of the iceberg... not what I had in mind. But I thought I could at least hear him out,  and each project I asked about which I thought would have an astronomical cost, Rudy came back with what seem an amazingly reasonable price. whic included everything I could think of.  and when I asked for the next enhancement, that too seemed irresistably reasonable, and on and on we went til we got to the very large project described above.. At that point my whole house was insulated and ventilated as well as it could possibly be for a whole lot less than I would ever have thought possible, and I was just delighted. With each improvement, I was really afraid to ask, and then each time I got a nice surprise. I'm only sorry there was no way to insulate my vaulted ceilings, because they cover so much of my main living space.So then Rudy and his workman came back another day to do the work, they worked quietly and considerately, cleaned up perfectly, worked efficiently, were pleasant to have around, and everything went well.
There were just two problems during this transaction. The first was that Rudy could/would not accept a credit card for the job so I  had to get cash or check, which turned out to be an enormous problem for me at that precise moment in time.
The second was that in the process of installing the attic insulation, Rudy had broken the doorbell, wires  which run through the attic to a large clanger bell in the back. And he kept saying he would come back to fix it . But kept not coming. For weeks and weeks. This became very hot and hostile. Only when I threatened in a big way, did he finally show up, pay  for a new electric door bell I had purchased, and install it almost to completion.

Yet on the whole, Rudy was unusually pleasant and smart and sharp, good at explaining things, and a pleasure to do business with.

"They came on one day and tore out the old dirty system and installed the new system...they replaced my original metal ducting pipes with a mylar, insulated soft piping.  I thought they would perhaps "upgrade" the disposition of the system and perhaps solve the problem that the downstairs was always cold,  but they just replaced the conduits that were already there...except for one which they said was "inaccessible."  At the end of the day, I noticed that there was no "return" for the air system and mentioned that.  That's when I realized that they weren't really interested in providing a thoroughly "new" system, but just replacing what was there, whether or not it had been adequate.  I was told that I would have to pay for the additional time to open up a return (apparently there was an old one, but it had been boarded over.)  I agreed to do that and paid two hundred and forty dollars separately.  I had wanted them to line the return, since it was just a wooden "trough," but they wouldn't do that.

In any case, the system works and is much cleaner than what I had.  I am not pleased that the exhaust for the propane has its vent under part of the deck and so the fumes go into the downstairs bedroom. 

There was an issue with getting the final inspection and when the county called me about it, I called the company and they agreed to pay the penalty fee that had been incurred.  The inspector passed the system, but said there should have been insulation on the piping near where the propane gets ignited.  Also, there was an issue with the draining situation at the side of the tankless water heater . 

It is now a few years since the work was done and I notice that the big soft tubing that goes from the main heater occasionally falls off and I tuck it back. I'm not sure how well the soft piping will hold up.

They were extremely courteous to me at the start of the job, but did not have patience for my complaints as the job progressed. But I am thrilled that they accomplished getting the system changed!
