"After dealing with frequent roof repairs, we finally decided on a complete replacement for our Livermore home. Avi kept us informed every step of the way, and the finished roof exceeded our expectations. It's made a noticeable difference during hot summer days."

"Alpha Structural are class acts 100%. Dick came to my house, gave us an honest estimate under what we had expected and got us on the books promptly to begin work. The foreman, Jose, was attentive and polite throughout the work. The stars of the show, Lawrence and Antonio, blew us away with their work. They gave me regular updates and got the job done, start to finish, with utmost professionalism. Little things, like pulling in my garbage cans after collection, just really made their work ethic and politeness stand out. With their stellar reputation and amazing performance, I trust this company with any foundation work I'll hopefully not need in the future! I just wish they provided more services so that I can work with them more."

"RS Construction was wonderful. We used them to build our home which is about 3,267 square feet. It was a huge job but they did amazing work. We are so happy with every aspect of the house. They were so receptive to our ideas and were able to expand on them. They were also very affordable compared to the other companies we were considering. I highly recommend RS Construction whether you a remodeling or building an entirely new home like we did. I have no doubt this company can handle anything."

"This was a terrific experience! Omar from Northgate Development responded to a request I made via Angi. We set up a time for him to come and look at our balcony deck which was in dire need of replacement. He was prompt, informative, and knowledgeable. I felt confident that we'd receive the attention and results we were hoping for. They were able to begin within a couple of days and didn't waste any time when they got to work. His dad Mike was also very efficient and hard-working. (He even helped me bring in my trash barrels!) The whole job was explained thoroughly and they did exactly what they said. There were no hidden costs and the invoice detailed everything. Mike, Omar, and their crew were all thoughtful, respectful, and kind. When there was a threat of rain overnight, Omar stayed late to cover everything securely. Not only did they accomplish what we wanted, but left the area spotless. We are very pleased with our new deck! Thanks Omar and Mike!"

"My experience with New Beginnings Engineering was great. From my initial contact Jonathon was very responsive and a wealth of knowledge. I knew right away I was in good hands. He took the time to listen and explain the project process. He was flexible and came out meet and do the inspection to meet my schedule. Fees were very reasonable for the level of service and quality of work. I would recommend NBE for any remodel or new construction project. I will definitely use the m again on any upcoming project."

"Foundations On The Level does excellent work. The job involved raising and stabilizing my house through the installation of 31 helical piers. A prior owner had tried to do the job with an unlicensed contractor and no building permits. That made my job even more difficult, but Foundations On The Level was able to handle it."

House Leveling questions, answered by experts

Concrete leveling can last anywhere from five to 10 years or more, and in some cases, it can be a permanent solution. The longevity depends on the method used and whether the underlying cause of the sinking is addressed. For example, mudjacking typically lasts five to 10 years, while polyjacking can last for 20 years or more. It's best to consult a professional for an accurate timeline based on your specific situation and any factors that could cause the issue to recur.

The timeframe is generally a few hours, allowing for immediate use post-hydration, ensuring minimal disruption to surrounding activities.

Mudjacking typically takes 24 to 72 hours (one to three days) to dry and cure completely before you can resume normal use. The total drying time can vary depending on the size of the project. Because the slurry mixture contains cement, it needs to harden fully to prevent the concrete slab from shifting under added weight. You should avoid walking on the concrete or placing heavy items like furniture or vehicles on the surface until it has fully set. Your concrete contractor can provide a precise timeline. As a point of comparison, if you opt for polyjacking, the polyurethane foam can dry in minutes, but it's recommended to wait about an hour before use.

Yes, expanding foam (also known as polyurethane foam) can lift concrete. This approach, called polyjacking, involves injecting the foam rather than concrete slurry to fill voids and raise the concrete slab back into place. It’s often faster and requires smaller drill holes than traditional mudjacking, though it may come at a higher cost. Some contractors also prefer polyjacking over mudjacking for more damaged and delicate slabs.

Common issues with concrete that may require professional repair or resurfacing include cracks, spalling, uneven surfaces, and weather damage.
