"I worked with Alpha once before, and they assisted with a second project 2 years ago which, now finally completed, I'm able to write a review about. Alpha helped with structural plans for windows in a garden level unit in order to prepare the proposal for city approval. Alpha is a big company and it took them a little while to complete everything; however I can certainly say that the engineer and contact people were knowledgeable and thorough. The plans were approved with their help and now that the unit is permitted for occupancy, the windows are a lovely attribute to the space."

We were going in circles trying to plan and budget and it honestly was one of the most stressful/hardest experiences of our marriage. That was until we stumbled upon Opulent. I do not remember how we found them, but man, I am so glad we did. Eddie and his whole team were OUTSTANDING throughout the whole process. They really made us feel like we were part of the Opulent Family as well as producing real results. They managed EVERYTHING just about perfectly. From dealing with the permit process to helping us figure out what we needed to fill our space with beautiful fixtures to actually getting the construction done. The preconstruction process was so simple thanks to their amazing team and construction flowed so smoothly. The field workers were respectful and clean every day. 10/10 cannot recommend enough. "Bait and switch. I obtained multiple quotes for my foundation. Dalinghaus Construction quoted me 19 piers to stabilize my home. I questioned why their competitors were quoting me over 30 piers; and they reassured me I was being over quoted by their competitors. Long story short, I went with Dalinghaus. During construction, a rep (David F) came by to drop off some tools and found that 19 piers would not be enough. They said I needed 14 more piers (totaling 33– same as their competitors). I’m stuck because I cannot leave my home half stabilized. No other reputable company would complete the job if another company started it. I was obligated to move forward with Dalinghaus. No one called to apologize for the misstep. They invoiced me and could care less how much this would affect my family. They proceeded to install14 more piers but left 14 large holes— they said backfilling was not part of the scope of work, while the original 19 were backfilled. Insanely strange why they think I wanted 14 large holes at my home. So this is where they gave me a “discount.” They backfilled the holes for free. Free? It should be included in the work. All in all, why do I have to pay for a mistake of this magnitude? I’ve tried to work it out with them peacefully but they have not provided me anything that would make this right. Only excuses why they should not compensate me. They have no integrity. They only care about their reputation at this point (they want my bbb review taken down). I would like to be compensated for the 14 additional piers that were missed from the original quote. 14 additional piers is a completely new job, not a “new work order.” They are the professional and should have done a more thorough assessment to provide me an accurate quote. Their competitors seemed to have done so but I was sadly duped by Dalinghaus. They baited me in and switched the price after the work started. $38k is a lot to lose. I have 2 small children and a home that needs to be completed. Ps. I’ve been waiting over 2 months for a resolution."

"We started the process of building our detached ADU at the beginning of 2022. We hired an Architect, who drew up a plan to build a 1200 sq ft, 3 bedroom 2.5 bathroom house. After 14 months of waiting and addressing revisions required by the Los Angeles Department of Building and Safety we got our permit in “Ready to Issue” status. While waiting for city approval, we all started looking for a fair, reliable and honest contractor who would do good/solid construction. We started the process of interviewing contractors and getting bids for the job. After several meetings and several bids, we met Micky Kanian with “AGA Construction”. We found Micky on Yelp. One of his references took us thru an ADU that Micky and team built for his elderly mother-in-law to live in. This family could not say enough good things about Micky and team. They took us thru the property and explained their experience in great detail. We saw another beautiful AGA project, a 5k sq ft + project that was in progress and really knew that day that we’d found our contractor. We weren’t quite ready to pull the trigger for personal reasons, so we put the project on hold. Meanwhile, we continued to collect a couple of other bids that were already in progress. During this process, AGA kept in touch with us. They checked in every few weeks or so, without being pushy or intrusive. After a delay of about 9 months, we decided to move forward with AGA construction. No one is a tougher critic than me. I was dreading this project because of the amount of stress that I knew we’d be under. Both financially and mentally. We’ve all heard and/or lived thru the horror of a construction project gone wrong. I won’t bury the lead any further. We love our ADU!!!!! We started the project on Jan 31st of 2024. We were told that the project would take 6-8 months. We lost the first 6 weeks or so with the heavy rains from last year, but even with that delay, we were mostly done with the project by the middle of August. We ran into the “expected” unknowns and surprises – all dealt with fairly and quickly by Micky and team. I would like to call out Joachin who was amazing. We always felt like we were in the best of qualified hands during this entire process. All inspections were signed off, the last checks were written, and we now have a gorgeous new home behind the main house on that property. We were so happy with the project and trusted Micky and Joachin so much, that we immediately launched a second project of gutting and renovating a very large master bathroom for my In-Laws. That job started on September 23rd and was done the first or second week of November as promised. It would’ve been done sooner, but we had a little “client indecision” that cost us about a week or two. All in all, I would highly recommend Micky and his crew, and we plan to use them for as long as they are in business or until my family and I run out of projects."

"Excellent. My house is 70 years old & really needed to be updated. This was a scary process for me. I’ve never been able to afford to hire anyone to do any kind of remodeling & was scared of stories from family & friends who have been ripped off having any work done on their houses. I was really impressed with the ideas Dereck had for my bathrooms & especially for my kitchen which made no sense. He took me shopping to pick out materials & with his knowledge & expertise guided me with my choices for tile, flooring, fixtures, etc. I love all of the men who did the work. They know what they are doing & were really meticulous making sure that everything was done to perfection & they cleaned up after themselves everyday. This has been a very long process because of course they ran into problems with some of the plumbing & then had to repipe the house because there was no water pressure. The bathrooms & kitchen have all been totally gutted & redesigned. I love the way it’s all turned out & so glad I went through all this construction including the frustration at times LOL.It was totally worth it."
