"submitted a request on Home advisor for carpet cleaning. Hit send and David called immediately. We talked about the job and price. He was available to do the job same day within a couple of hours. David and his crew arrived at 1:10pm. started the job and finished about 2:30pm. My bedroom carpet was cleaned and the stains gone. The room had an unusual smell which he used an enzyme to neutralize the odor. Very satisfied with his work. I was surprised over his price, thought it was on the high side for 1 bedroom carpet approx. 250 sq ft. They did do a great job with same day service."

Carpet Cleaning questions, answered by experts

Part of the rug cleaning cost depends on the rug material type. Different materials may require different cleaning methods. Some of the most common rug material cleaning costs include:

  • Wool: $5–$8 per square foot

  • Cotton: $2–$8 per square foot

  • Silk: $4–$8 per square foot

  • Synthetic: $1–$4 per square foot

  • Sheepskin: $4–$8 per square foot

  • Sisal: $4–$7 per square foot

  • Other materials: $1–$8 per square foot

Professional rug cleaning will take between one day and a week on average. Some cleaners can complete the process in a few hours depending on the method, but most will keep the rug for several days to ensure proper cleaning and drying.

Wool rugs respond well to light steam cleaning. Steam cleaning can help lift the dirt out of a wool rug and eliminate odors. However, because wool rugs are so absorbent, excessive moisture can lead to mold and mildew growth, so you’ll need to be cautious with the amount of steam being used, and avoid steam cleaning more than once a year to protect the rug’s fibers.

Yes, vinegar can remove poop stains. How long the poop sits on your carpet will determine how many rounds of solution you’ll need and the length per round. One round should be enough if you’re dealing with a fresh stain, but more stubborn stains might require longer rounds. If you prefer a more effective way to remove dog poop, consider an enzyme cleaner that can break down both stains and odor.

We don’t recommend you put your silk rug in the washing machine. Silk is extremely delicate; stuffing it in the washer won’t do it any good. Additionally, the hot water can harm your rug. If you have stubborn stains you can’t get out, the safest bet is to call a pro.
