"They (2 ladies) have only cleaned for me once but I have scheduled them for every two weeks. They are very thorough and efficient, and did everything very professionally. The gentleman who answers the phone is very courteous and easy to talk with, and even called me with a friendly reminder of when they were coming. I look forward to their next visit!"

"Dave was very prompt and polite. He went out of his way to make sure a drain pipe was unclogged which took longer, but he didn't charge me more. I will call him again when drain gutters need to be cleaned."

"Julian and his crew were wonderful! They did a fabulous job on the exterior of our home (an older home built in 1958 in the Village area of Arroyo Grande.). They were professional, courteous, fast, thoughtful. They were wonderful with our large dogs, and took care not to damage any plants. And, their clean-up was fabulous! I would highly recommend Paint-Tech to anyone! Deborah sutton"

Cleaning questions, answered by experts

Trash cans are some of the most likely areas in your home to harbor bacteria, insects, and foul odors, so you should plan on spot cleaning once a week and disinfecting and deep cleaning at least once per month. Doing so will help reduce the risk of mold growth, help prevent attracting insects into your home, and aid in eliminating unpleasant odors in your home. Add the task to your routine house cleaning checklist to make sure you don’t forget.

If you’re hiring a house cleaner, you should have them clean the house bi-weekly. This is the most common frequency for people who hire house cleaners, but what’s best for you will depend on how big your house is, how many people live in it, and if you have any pets. If you can maintain tidiness and deal with any immediate spills or splashes on your own, then a professional clean bi-weekly or even monthly should do the trick.

After clearing away crumbs and other debris, using a store-bought cleaner that is safe for use inside of your refrigerator is the best way to clean your fridge. If you’d rather opt for a DIY solution, we share a great one above using baking soda and vinegar.

Anything that might have been exposed to fumigation chemicals should be washed before use. Wipe down and sanitize surfaces like countertops and tables, and wash all utensils (or take care to store them in an airtight box beforehand), as well as anything else that could find its way into someone’s mouth, like kid or pet toys.

It’s a good idea to give your cabinets a quick once-over every week. Every six months or so, you may want to double down on the elbow grease and give the exteriors a more thorough wipe down. Additionally, you'll probably need to pull out all the stops once a year to really deep clean the interior. If you’re not too keen on the idea of cleaning your own kitchen cabinets, you can always hire a house cleaner near you to tackle it for you. They’ll have the expertise to make sure every cabinet is spotless.
