"Bought a house to be flipped, replaced any damaged areas and bring the house up to date with modern features. The bathroom needed re-tiled. The driveway was badly in shape , layered and designed concrete was used. All the kitchen cabinets were stripped and refaced . Stained that matched the decor. The roof was replaced with new shingles."

"Was very pleased with Val-ARM's service.  Co owner Francesca was prompt & very professional when we met and she inspected property.  As she promised, I had an estimate from her in one week's time.  She then brought two workers out with her several days before work was scheduled just to verify scope of job.  They saw a few complications & estimated more hours to complete but Francesca honored her original estimate to me!  The work was done on time & looks great.  All debris including dead tree roots were removed from the premises & I have peace of mind now that the backyard concrete patios are safe as well as attractive.  Val-Arm was several thousand dollars below another co's bid, which frankly was for less work.  Obviously Val-Arm wanted the job.

"Goodfellas took care of us when we needed it! We had a pipe burst between floors in our multi-level house this summer, ruining our downstairs kitchen, and effecting some cabinetry in our upstairs kitchen. Once we got that clean-up out of the way and got the insurance claim started, we started shopping around for contractors that could help us out. We had three different estimates, but Goodfellas was the least expensive while still meeting all our needs. Our project manager Danny really set up a plan that would fix the damage, while also giving our upstairs kitchen a much needed facelift. His crew foreman Nir, and his crew—especially Arnold—was very helpful and efficient. It was easy to communicate with Nir via phone and text, and I would say I spoke to Danny via email at least a few times a week. Danny was really helpful in matching our new cabinets to the paint choice I had made for the remaining cabinets. They both made sure we were happy with each step and installment, or they fixed it until we were. We even ran into some insurance trouble midway through, putting a halt on our funds for the project. After explaining the whole nightmare to Danny, he was patient and waited with us until Nationwide could pull it together to help us finish this project. And once the final money was approved, Danny’s crew was quick to finish up the kitchen so that we could return once again to our normal lives. In short, they met our demands easily and did the project quickly and proficiently. Whenever there was a confusion or problem, it was easily communicated and handled. The crews were friendly and respectful of my family and house. Arnold went out of his way to make sure my kitchen upstairs was exactly how I wanted it, even down to giving me choice of threshold trim when he could have just slapped down any ol’ trim and I probably wouldn’t have noticed. And he always had a quick smile for my children. I would recommend this company to anyone needing work done in their home."

"The job went very well; it was excellent. They were professional, right on time and everything was done very well. Their pricing was right in the middle; it was not the high end and not the low end."

"I signed up with these guys about two months ago, we started out with a free estimate and then I signed up with them to have my drawings done and they handled all the city stuff. The work has started as of this month (October) and so far I am happy with the job, Lesly and Deena have been coming at least twice a week to check on the job, and she gives me updates on what's going on since I am new with all the construction language. The guys are very hard working (considering the fact that they work all day in the sun). They are respectful of my house and always ask me question as well. My foundation has been done and my framing is up as well. I'm happy with progression so far and I can't wait to see end results. Thanks to Jason and everyone that's working hard I appreciate it and again can't wait to see end results with the finishes.

"Asi came for the initial visit on time and immediately understood what we wanted.  He suggested upgrading to a more natural colored and textured type of TREX, which for our application was the perfect solution and created the look we desired.  We also had a slightly larger than 120 sq foot space and we needed some steps, none of which were not included in the Angie's list price of $1499, hence the higher cost.  (I had received two other estimates/quote for decking the same space, both were substantially higher and used a lower quality of decking materials.)  After his initial visit, Asi came out again, so that my husband could see the sample decking color I had chosen (and also so I could confirm for myself that I made the "right" color choice for our application.)  He measured for the deck plan and said that they would be back the following week...when the materials came in.  They came early one morning and by the end of the day had the deck foundation completed.  The next day they installed the TREX decking...beautiful job, well constructed, and great workers.  They ran a few boards short because of the steps and came back on the third day... later in the day to finish up.  They were excellent, punctual and clean.  We love our new deck.  It's better than we envisioned.  Thank you Asi and Real Construction crew."

Concrete Mudjacking questions, answered by experts

Generally speaking, push piers—or steel piers—are the best option for underpinning, as they reach down to solid bedrock to find support for your foundation rather than relying on soil, which could be subject to the same issues as the soil directly below your foundation. However, the best underpinning method for your home depends on your location, how far down the bedrock is, and the type of soil in your area. Helical piers are usually the best option for sandy soil or in areas where the bedrock is too deep to use steel piers.

A slurry of cement, sand, and water is injected beneath the concrete to lift and stabilize it.

Pros often use mudjacking or polyurethane foam injection to level a sunken concrete patio. Both methods lift the slab by filling voids beneath it. After properly compacting the soil beneath it to prevent future settling, the concrete may need to be removed and re-poured for severe sinking.

Mudjacking is your best bet for leveling concrete on a tighter budget. It’s less expensive than foam or grout mixture. For smaller, surface-level issues, you could also use a self-leveling compound, which creates an even surface over existing concrete—it’s a budget-friendly option suitable for DIY enthusiasts.

Yes, you can mudjack cracked concrete, but the cracks will need to be repaired once the concrete has been leveled. If the concrete is severely cracked in multiple places, replacement may be a better option, but for less severe cracking, mudjacking is a good solution as long as cracks are correctly caulked and sealed.
