"Roberto Sanchez Solar System, I interviewed 4 solar panel companies and I chose NRG because Will was able to explain everything well. He answered all my questions to my complete satisfaction. Friendly and honest, Will made the sales process very smooth and personable. Tiffany helped and coordinated the project to make sure everything goes well. She always got back to my emails and phone calls promptly. Installers completed the solar panels when I was at work. Came home and he solar panels were on the roof. Definitely a nice install and quality work was delivered. Lisa helped out with the financing on the HVAC. She was patient and I believe got me a lower amount that before. Solar edge app is great to use and straight forward. Highly recommended company thanks NRG. I am excited to use my new solar system!"

"Jeff was great to work with. He took the extra time to discuss questions we had while making sure our solar project was managed seamlessly from start to finish. Everything was planned for and taken care of, down to the small details where his crew took the time to color match the new electrical conduit on the roof as well as on the exterior wall of the house. The entire process was completed in a timely matter, from the initial planning stages, through permits, installation and inspections."

"I hired Legendary Electric to install solar panels and Tesla batteries on my home, and I could not be happier. Jeff was honest, professional, and easy to work with from day one. Communication was excellent, and he always kept me informed. What stood out most was his attention to detail. I am very particular, and he made every adjustment I asked for without hesitation. His team cared about getting everything exactly right. The installation looks extremely clean and works perfectly. The project was completed quickly, pricing was fair, and the service exceeded my expectations. Jeff runs a trustworthy company and takes pride in his work. I highly recommend Legendary Electric to anyone considering solar or electrical work. Five stars. He was also very patient when I changed small layout preferences and made sure everything matched my vision. The whole process felt smooth and stress free, which is rare with contractors. I would absolutely hire them again. Thank you Team. Truly!"

Solar Panels questions, answered by experts

DIY solar panel installations are hard to manage by yourself. You’ll likely need some help or prior experience to make the project worth the effort.

The average homeowner needs around 22 solar panels, but the exact number depends on your monthly energy consumption. Your solar professional should size your array to offset your consumption, meaning you’ll need fewer panels if you use below-average amounts of electricity, or more than 22 if you use above-average amounts of electricity. The number of panels also depends on the output of each panel. The average is around 400 watts, but you might need more panels if you install less capable equipment. Since there are so many variables, you should have a professional size your system.

Rooftop solar panels supply energy to a single household, where a solar farm can power multiple homes at once with clean energy. Residential rooftop solar panels cost more per watt with a lower project total, and those panels only service the residence they are installed on (in most circumstances). With a solar farm, multiple households can buy into the project and share the overall cost.

The best way to know if your roof can support solar panels is to hire a structural engineer. They’ll look at your roof and approve the design of your solar panel system or suggest changes. The best roofing for solar panels is made from strong materials like asphalt shingles and metal, but tile and gravel will work. Softer materials like thatch or temporary structures are not a good fit.

If you’re deciding between a solar battery versus a generator for the best backup power solution, you can take a few factors into consideration. Solar batteries are quiet while generators can be quite loud. Generators have a lower up-front cost, but they require fuel and ongoing maintenance while solar batteries are more expensive but don’t have many ongoing costs.
