"Serafin from Delta Lawn & Garden called and came out within one day, and quickly assessed my situation. My wiring needed to be fixed before checking for other problems in my sprinkler system, which he was able to do right then. He then finished checking my system and gave me an honest assessment of the problem; he even gave me a plan B to save me some money for the time being. I appreciated his honesty instead of just going for the option that would cost more money. I opted for the full fix, and best of all, he gave me a fair price and was able to do the work right then! Serafin is very professional, honest, and friendly. He thoroughly checked out my system before leaving and said he stands by his work should anything go wrong. If you can t yet tell, I highly recommend Delta Lawn & Garden!"

Customers say: True professional

"Our landscaping in Menlo Park needed a complete refresh. The team replaced thirsty plants with drought-tolerant options that still provide plenty of color and curb appeal. We're using much less water without sacrificing appearance."

Leaf Removal questions, answered by experts

The best way to remove lead paint is by wet hand sanding and removing all dust and residue with a HEPA vacuum. Professionals may also strip and scrape lead-based paint with a paint scraper. In some cases, you may choose to have a pro encapsulate or enclose your lead-based paint surface by covering it with a sealant or a new material. You may also choose to replace the material altogether.

Some companies offer hazardous waste removal, but additional fees and special handling procedures may be required.

No. Standard homeowners insurance does not cover any kind of lead remediation, focusing instead on sudden, unpreventable events like fires and theft. Many insurance companies will specifically exclude lead paint removal, since it tends to be an expensive and unavoidable project. The exception is if the lead surface is damaged during a covered event (like a flood) and homeowners insurance pays its replacement.

Embarking on a kitchen demolition comes with its share of risks to keep in mind. Think of potential encounters with asbestos, sharp objects, and power tools—not to mention the peril of structures wobbling or unexpected plumbing surprises. And, of course, you will be surrounded by dust and debris throughout the process. All of the above makes safety gear necessary, or you can consider hiring a qualified professional.

You can sell a house with lead paint, but there are several requirements. If you are aware that lead paint exists anywhere in the home, you must disclose that to potential buyers. Required home inspections will often uncover lead paint, especially for older houses where lead paint may still be a problem. If you have taken steps to encapsulate lead, you should provide buyers with full documentation of the project so it won’t cause any problems later on.
