I had my entire house remodeled, and Luis helped me with all the hardwood floors, tile in the Kitchen, bathroom and titled my entire master shower. "I wanted to get vinyl plank to replace the carpet in 3 bedrooms, the hallway, and the living room. In addition, I had the carpet replaced on my stairs and master bedroom. D&D Flooring provided the best pricing and best availability. The D&D Flooring provided great guidance and advice on the vinyl and carpeting, which I appreciated. The D&D team did a great job and was extremely professional. I work from home, and they were understanding and developed a plan for the work that provided the least impact on my work. D&D walked them through the entire process and took my input on which way the planks would run and where the carpet seams would be. The stairs' carpet has a pattern. D&D did a great job making sure that the cuts made fit the pattern, so it looked like a continuous piece of carpet. Due to the amount of work, it took them a couple of days. The flooring and carpet turned out beautifully, and I am very happy with the results."

"My husband and I finally came around to updating our flooring and found Carpeteria Carpet One through a friend that had previously used them (and was beyond happy). We could not say better things about our experience with this location and the service. Gary helped us through the entire process and not only made us feel at ease, but gave us unbeatable pricing. The staff was knowledgable and truly listened to what we were looking for regards to types of carpet and of course accommodating our budget. The entire process from the service, to the installation, and the final product was beyond seamless and refreshing. Thank you Carpeteria Carpet One!

Flooring Installation questions, answered by experts

Resurfacing a garage floor takes about eight hours on average, with another couple hours over three days to do the epoxy. Epoxy goes on in three coats, with each coat taking 24 hours to dry and cure. You’ll need to keep foot and vehicle traffic off of your garage floor for around 4 days in total when replacing your garage floor, so be sure to plan ahead before you start. This is a great time to organize your garage since you’ll need to move everything out to apply the epoxy.

Although hardwood floors have a costly upfront expense, most homeowners find them to be worth the investment. They are incredibly durable and can last for decades with proper maintenance. Hardwood floors can also provide a high return on investment (ROI)—up to 118% on average—and add significant value and appeal to your home. Additionally, because they are easy to keep free of dust, pollen, and pet dander, they can sometimes help alleviate allergies for household members.

You’ll find many of the options we listed at big-box home improvement retailers and department stores, as well as smaller independent floor specialists in your area. Many of these stores offer full-service installation of the products they sell, and others may offer to refer you to a trusted partner for installation.

You can also shop for these products online. We recommend shopping around to compare prices, service offerings, and reviews from previous customers to help make a more informed final decision.

Uneven floors often signal structural issues in a home, so taking them seriously is vital. If you buy an older home with slightly uneven floors, check that your inspector thoroughly inspects the foundation to catch any potential issues early. And if you notice that your floors are becoming more uneven over time, call a pro to check your foundation ASAP.

No, thick carpet padding isn’t necessarily better than thinner padding. The appropriate padding thickness will depend on the type of carpet and the amount of foot traffic in the area.

For example, thick padding works well in low-traffic areas, like bedrooms, where you have soft and plush carpeting. However, thick carpet padding can damage low-pile carpet, which is used in the busiest parts of your home (like hallways and entryways). For that reason, it’s best to use thinner, heavier padding underneath carpet in high-traffic areas.
