"Finally an honest Solar company!! I went through several companies trying to get quotes for one of my properties, either they were ridiculously expensive or they didn't return my calls. A friend of mine referred me to Mega Sun and I have to say I am very pleased. Within a couple days from the initial phone call I already had an estimate and once i decided to go with them the installation was completed in one week. Its been a little over a month since they completed the install and everything is working smoothly.

I was amazed at just how great the customer service was. I just want to say thank you to the whole team who helped out, I really appreciate all your hard work. Now I know you guys are the ones to call for all future jobs."

"Tom Cohen met with us to explain the painting and process. The product they used is Cool Coat which contracts and shrinks with weather changes and keeps the stucco repairs from not returning. It also blocks UV/UB rays up to 73% and helps keep the house a more consistent, cooler temperature. It has a lifetime warranty that is transferable to the next home owner. Since we are in the process of getting ready to sell, we felt this would be a great upgrade and would add value to the home. We started work the very next morning. Tom coordinated and over saw the entire project. He was very pleasant to work with. The crew was friendly and worked efficiently. They prepped and protected everything so the finished job was remarkable. They removed old shingles on the front of the house and re-stuccoed the front. They did come back and touch up a few things until we were satisfied. The price was reasonable considering the value of the product and the house will never have to be painted again. We were very pleased with Cielo from start to finish. I would recommend them and I would use them again if the need arises."

"This is a multi family  residence, more like an income property. After the use of many years and many cars in and out of the driveway. It had to be repaired someday. These guys came in quick and repaired and sealed the driveway. Took a few days but the final work was great!

"Robyn is easy to get along with and great to work with, with none of the bad attitude or inflated prices that you're likely to get from similarly experienced carpentry professionals. We recently completed an extensive renovation of our 4,400 sq ft home, and we brought Robyn in to install the 20+ doors and base/case mouldings. It was all Craftsman style, and he and his team did a wonderful job of completing the work to our specs - even re-doing certain details where we felt some adjustment was needed. Later, once the house was painted, I brought Robyn back to help me install our kitchen cabinets, relying on his cabinetry experience to accurately level the bases and safely hang the uppers. It all came together quickly, and Robyn was once again a pleasure to work with. We're still not 100% done with our renovation, and while I'm doing most of the remaining finish work myself, I plan to bring Robyn back to help with certain projects if he's available. At the very LEAST, please call this guy for an estimate before you decide who to hire. Once you've met him, his experience, personality, and fair prices will probably sell themselves!"

"I am very pleased with this company. I originally requested a quote for exterior painting and stucco repair. Then I eventually added the walling in of an exterior door and the replacement of rain gutters. The quote was reasonable but a bit higher than I was willing to pay because the property might be sold in a few years. Mike agreed to lower the price to make it more attractive to me. The work started promptly and it was immediately apparent that the job was going to turn out excellent. The attention to detail and the quality of the preparation was visible right from the start. The crew (Christian, Robert, Julio and Nery) arrived on time every day and worked very hard. They uncovered damage that was not visible prior and repaired a lot of wood rot and termite damage without increasing the quote. The job took a bit longer than originally estimated, but I didn't mind due to the quality of the work being done. The finished product exceeded my expectations and was well worth the price paid. I am planning on having my kitchen remodeled within the next year and will definitely be contacting Mike and his crew. I am looking forward to seeing what wonderful work they can do with my kitchen. Thanks MC Construction!!"

Dock Building and Repair questions, answered by experts

The most significant factor in knowing whether to repair or replace your dock is the extent of the damage and its age. If you have minor cracks on a few boards and the dock is less than 15 years old, it'll likely be worth repairing the damaged part. However, it's time to replace this essential water feature if you have significant damage, such as rotting wood in multiple areas, warps or cracks in the dock supports, or a damaged foundation.

You will likely need a permit to build a new dock or add to an existing one, especially if it's a permanent structure. Permit requirements vary by location, as they are typically set by local municipalities, counties, or cities rather than states. You should check with your local government or building department to determine what paperwork is required before you begin. In many areas, you may need multiple permits, including general construction permits and those designed to protect local marine life. Additionally, if you are part of a homeowner's association (HOA), they may have their own rules regarding docks, such as minimum distances between neighboring docks. It's best to check with all relevant authorities (city, county, HOA) to ensure you are in compliance. A professional dock builder can often handle the permit-pulling process for you.

In most areas, dock builders need some type of license. In some states, only a general construction license might be necessary, while a marine construction license is required in others. You can check online to see which is mandatory in your area, and then you can use Angi’s contractor licensing tool to make sure the company holds the proper license. Since dock construction is inherently dangerous, confirm with your builder that they are fully insured for everyone’s protection.

Here are a few other considerations before you build, even if you're convinced you're in compliance with the law:

  • Are you damaging the environment? Bodies of water are often delicate ecosystems, and building a dock can be destructive and disruptive to the wildlife.

  • Are you blocking access? Lots of people like to use a lake, so you need to make sure your dock doesn't block public access to the water.

  • Can you enclose the dock? Just because you can build a dock doesn't mean you can build any dock you want. Some areas don't allow enclosed docks, for example.

  • Do you need to follow any specific rules or guidelines? Check with the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Association (NOAA) Office for Coastal Management for any guidelines you’ll need to follow, including size and type restrictions.

Costs depend on dock type, size, materials, water depth, and labor.
