Customers say: Terrific value

"Excellent work. Great pricing and attention to detail. This is the second time I hired Victor and his company. They work fast, efficiently, and definitely know what they are doing. They make suggestions and improvements to the overall project without me having to ask. They clean up at the end of each work day and pay attention to detail. Another great job taken care of, thanks again! I will definitely recommend them to anyone needing brick or masonry work."

"Erinn was my initial contact and he gave a very through and fair estimate. We had structural work done to support floor joists and large beams under the garage that needed replacing. Ernesto and his team, Julio, Salvatore and Gilder worked tirelessly to complete the work and were respectful, punctual, informative and good humoured throughout the entire process. I would not hesitate to use them again or recommend them to others. A really great company!!"

"This is a family owned business that really does quality work and guarantees your satisfaction. They do not even expect any payment until the work is done. Actually they went above and beyond our expectations. Emilio gave us great advice from the beginning and the work was done in a timely manner with utmost care and precision (it looked more like carpentry work than typical wood fence building). The results were fantastic and the workers were diligent and careful, thoughtfully checked with us along the way to assure accuracy, and cleaned up completely after work was completed. Actually we have never experienced such a pleasant group of workers who were so gifted in so many ways. One even came back later to address an electrical problem that had come up while they were here. They also were sensitive to the fact that we needed to work with our recently widowed neighbor since our fence butted against her garage (which had significant damage to the stucco). Before completing the fence, they were also able to repair the stucco on her garage to prevent further damage and give her peace of mind. Communication was great with Emilio which also gave us peace of mind. I had seen their 5 star rating on Home Advisor before hiring them and, if I could give them more than 5 stars, I would. I would hire them again in a heartbeat. We are thankful to find that pride in workmanship is still available."

"**SIMPLY OUTSTANDING** Robert Garcia Concrete is the only company, in the past 3 yrs that we hire. During this time, Robert and his crew have completed 3 jobs for us. Everything from our first conversation about the upcoming project is fully estimated in detail and documented in both email and text by Robert. His attention to customer service is beyond compare. The cost is very fair. The level of perfection that the entire crew puts forth is really enjoyable to witness. Our most recent project was a concrete patio replacing a preexisting. wooden deck that, over the years was in disrepair. Robert and his crew demo'd the structure in short order, leaving a clean area. The next morning they installed rebar and forms. The next day they were here bright and early w/ concrete pump, truck, and in no time had the new patio slab looking fabulous. Robert himself, always returns the following day to remove forms, and check to ensure all is well. An impressive part of this project was the replacement of a small narrow set of precarious stairs with risers that were too high and too shallow. They completely transformed the area by removing the old, and made all new safe and aesthetically symmetrical entry to our family room from the backyard patio. These guys are top shelf! Friendly professionals. And...they play great music while they work, which makes watching the evolution to the area that much more enjoyable."

"Javier installed a new fence and custom gate. The work was started on time and completed on time at the quoted price. His crew was neat, clean and easy to work with. We have had him do a couple of other small jobs for us, and have been very satisfied with all of his work."

Masonry questions, answered by experts

Masonry uses units like bricks, cement blocks, and stone with mortar between them. Mortar is generally made of sand and a type of cement. Examples of masonry include the brick or stone on a house, chimney, or freestanding wall. Concrete is a mixture of water, sand, stone aggregate, and other materials, and is poured into forms or moldings. Types of concrete applications include driveways, garage and basement floors, and poured concrete walls in basements and crawl spaces.

Yes, you can limewash surfaces other than brick. Plaster, stone, stucco, and concrete can all also be limewashed. Any porous surface that will absorb the wash is a good candidate for limewash, although it won’t help much with waterproofing. If you choose to limewash over paint, you’ll need to prep before applying it to avoid a powdery, chalky finish. Shiny surfaces like metal or glass can’t absorb limewash, so it’s not suited for these.

Yes, brick should be clean before staining to ensure the best results. Dirt, dust, mold, mildew, and other substances on the brick can prevent the stain from properly adhering to it. Thoroughly cleaning the brick allows the stain to penetrate and bond to the surface more effectively. Cleaning typically involves using a pressure washer or a stiff brush with mild detergent. However, stubborn residue may require a specialized masonry cleaner.

Removing paint from brick can have both aesthetic and practical value. Some people prefer the timeless look of bare brick, making it worthwhile to remove old paint layers. Brick also lasts longer when unpainted, as paint traps moisture, causing the brick to deteriorate more quickly. If your brick walls are already in bad shape, stripping the paint off might do more harm than good.

Yes, you can cut patio stones with a circular saw. Similar to using an electric grinder, you will need to use a diamond blade as this is the most effective blade for cutting a material like stone. The stone must be wet when using a circular saw to ensure the cut is smooth.
