"Leo was very helpful and quick to respond. We’re happy with how our 2 bathrooms turned out. Project was completed within the time promised. Our only complaint is that the workers did not clean up very well. But overall, we’re satisfied and we’ll use them again."
"We were seeking to remodel a downstairs bathroom in the residence of our mixed-use property in the Big Bear region of the San Bernardino mountains. We estimate the property started out as a small shack in the early 1900s. It has been added to by multiple owners over the decades, culminating with our complete renovation in the 1990s - except for this bathroom. It had a few updated fixtures but still retained its flimsy beadboard paneling. It was small, drafty, awkwardly configured, and the floor sagged at the toilet. On top of that, it was situated near a dead end hallway that we wanted to incorporate into the bathroom space. No amount of lipstick was going to fix this pig. It had to be gutted. We first approached a big box hardware store, but after two months of constant emails with the coordinator, we still didnât have an estimate. After some prodding, we received a âWell, we are up to X dollars so farâ response. The off-the-cuff guesstimate was high, incomplete, and a total turn-off. We started seeking out local contractors and found Preferred Restoration on the HomeAdvisor website. After a meeting with the company owner, Jesse McHenry, we received a written proposal a few days later. The overall cost was reasonable, and the project was broken down by phase (demo, plumbing, electrical, etc.) with an estimated cost of each section. He clearly delineated what he was including in the estimate and what product we were responsible for purchasing and gave an estimated completion date. I have never received such a thorough and comprehensive breakdown of costs from a contractor in the last 25 years. I was impressed, and if his thoroughness on paper was any indication of his overall process, we were ready to sign up. Before beginning the project (and before each phase), Jesse gave us a rundown of what to expect in terms of time, noise level, ancillary workers, and product requirements. He curtained off the work section with plastic and tape, limiting the dust exposure and noise level. We gave him a key to the back door, but he always let us know when he would be coming. We were mostly preoccupied with our business next door but occasionally saw him throughout the day. He is certainly pleasant but always remained professional and unobtrusive. His subcontractors were also high quality. In addition, Jesse thoroughly monitored each phase for problems and was extremely diligent about making sure there were no leaks. He is highly focused, and his workmanship is superb. The design esthetic was largely owner-driven. We wanted an updated look but also wanted to maintain the same solid feel of the mountain house. We put in a jacuzzi tub to relax at the end of the day and kept the room uncluttered so it could serve as a guest bathroom at a momentâÂÂs notice. Jesse had some great recommendations including reconfiguring the arrangement to make the area more spacious and adding ambient floor heating, a cleverly concealed access panel to the tub mot"

"I have always highly recommended Ocean Seven Builders. We have used them many times. They have done our garage roof, the main roof on our house, they have put in new roof for my town home, and all looks beautiful. The team is very prompt response. The crew is very friendly and professional. I will use them again for future needs."
"They were great! From start to finish! Timeframe went as was quoted and the company's employees were very professional and respectful of our home and privacy. They all were very hard workers and did a fantastic job! I am so happy with my new colors of my home and I would hire them again in a heartbeat!"
"The project manager, Tom Cohen, was so helpful from our first meeting. He was knowledgeable about the windows and explained the differences so I could make the best choice for the money I had to spend. The windows were replaced and I'm happy with my beautiful new sliding door. The work was done quickly and my home was left in great condition. I had no clean up to do after the workers finished. Tom helped me process all the paperwork and arranged for financing , also very helpful. I would use this company again and I would ask to work with Tom Cohen. I trust him to help with future projects."
Similar to other types of wood siding consisting of natural materials, cedar siding should last 20 to 40 years. However, the lifespan for any wood siding, including cedar, can be far shorter without the proper repair and maintenance work. Don’t put off making repairs, or problems could worsen quickly. While you can repair minor holes and cracks in the siding shakes, rot and warping requires replacing the boards.
Yes, cedar is a popular option for shou sugi ban siding, which is a Japanese style of charring wood for a home’s exterior to finish and protect the material. Cedar shou sugi ban siding costs $15 per square foot on average, but ranges between $2 and $25 per square foot depending on your home’s size, the price of labor, and where you live.
Vines can cause severe damage to your siding. They can grow underneath and all around siding, which can cause it to pop off or split. Vines also trap moisture, which can damage siding by causing rot. The cost to replace siding may make you consider getting rid of the ivy or adding a trellis or lattice support for it to grow on instead.
Costs vary based on home size, siding quality, labor, and any necessary repairs to underlying structures. High-grade materials and insulation options tend to influence the overall expense.
Vinyl is lightweight, easy to install, durable, and long-lasting, and as long as a professional installs it, it should remain waterproof for several decades to keep your home protected. It can hold out against extreme weather conditions, and it doesn’t make a nice home for any sort of insects. Plus, vinyl is affordable and comes in a variety of looks and colors. When it comes to board and batten siding, vinyl is one of the most affordable material options.
