"We would like to share our experience with WJB construction. We could not be more pleased with the remodel of our kitchen. The owners Josh and Katy completely exceeded our expectations. After a horrified remodel of a bathroom with another company I was introduced to Josh and Katy. Instantly we knew that they had the client’s best interest at hand. After discussing it and making choices, the work started on the promised day. Each specialized person or crew that was sent out for different aspects of the remodel were on time, very nice, very hard working, worked full days and completed well within the specified time frame. Each aspect was shown and double checked with us. We were kept apprised. We received a report each evening about what had been completed and what would be done the following day(s). I wouldn’t hesitate to utilize them again for any other remodel or work that I may need/want to do. "

Customers say: True professional

"Exceptionally well. Every phase of the job from the estimate to the construction to the cleanup and billing went smoothly and professionally. The owner and workers were polite, competent, and considerate. Their work itself was splendid and surpassed expectations. The stairway and handrails are a work of art. Thank you!"

"They were through and completed everything in a timely fashion. They kept me informed on what they were doing and on what was needed to remodel my property. I highly recommend them. They could do everything that was needed. In fact I don't think there is anything that they can't do. They were a pleasure to work with."

"I spoke with Matt and arranged for Jeff to come out and put together our brand new patio set. Jeff came on time and the price was fair for the job. I highly recommend All Pro handyman services and would call them again for our handyman needs!"

"Islander gave helpful suggestions on the remodel. He and his crew always showed up at the time they said they would and did a good job cleaning up after their day was done. They were courteous, knowledgeable and did great work. We would hire them again for any other projects we may have in the future."

Carpentry questions, answered by experts

Proper Murphy bed installation minimizes the risk of wall damage. A secure attachment requires making some holes for anchors or brackets, but these can be easily patched if the bed is removed. To ensure the installation is done correctly and safely, hiring a professional is recommended, especially if you have limited DIY experience.

Removing a load-bearing wall is best handled by professionals. However, if you have the skill set and decide to DIY the project, you will still need at least one additional person to assist you. Aside from helping with demolition, you'll need another hand to install the new support beam.

An A-frame home can be cheaper to build than a traditional house, but that is not always a given. Prices can be fairly similar in some cases, depending on the location, design, and necessary site preparation. Costs for an A-frame typically run between $100 to $200 per square foot, which is comparable to the cost of a traditional home. The cost of an A-frame can come in under those numbers if you opt for a prefabricated kit.

The easiest way to tell if a wall is load bearing is to check if it’s an exterior wall or if it runs perpendicular to the joists above and below it (or parallel to beams). Exterior walls are almost always load-bearing, and walls that run under beams or parallel to them are also usually load-bearing. There are exceptions to these rules, and walls that don’t fit into these categories can still be load-bearing. If you’re unsure, hire a structural engineer to look at your home to assess whether or not the wall is structural.

Yes, you can hang picture frames, shelves, and other items on Trusscore panels. For lightweight items (less than 30 pounds), the company recommends using adhesive strips rather than nails or screws. However, you’ll need to secure heavier objects to a stud in the wall. In these situations, Trusscore recommends cutting away the panel material and fastening the object to the stud with metal hardware.
