"We recently had Mega Power Electric Inc install a solar system and panels. The President and provided excellent communication all the way through the process. He even met with us after installation to explain the almost incomprehensible PG&E bill. Although not the least expensive bid, his was competitive and I felt he was as interested in educating me about solar and the various types of panels and inverter systems as he was in selling a system. He demonstrated how the array of panels would meet our energy needs and as opposed to some of the other companies, wasn't selling us more than we needed. We are very satisfied with our solar system and I highly recommended Mega Power Electric Inc."

"LG Electric was great to work with from start to finish. Eric met with me prior to the start of the job to review the project and allowed me time for questions. Eric and his crew communicated with me on a regular basis about the job, progress, payment schedule and timeline. Their work was very clean and professional as was the entire crew. I would highly recommend them if you are looking for an electrician!"

"His name is Andrew Johnson. He is going to be doing our carport next. He does all of our electrical but he also does incredible solar. It was around $17,000 for the solar. We have a big house. You can't beat his prices. He doesn't have a huge company. His guys are great. He shows up when he says. He does meticulous work. The city's came out and told him right in front us that he did better than perfect. He lives in our neighborhood. He told him to get on Angie's List"

"Overall, it was a very pleasant experience with no real complaints to speak of.  Overall they get an "A" rating from me, the only ding being a "B" for punctuality due to a postponed appointment.  This might be due to the city inspector, but quite possibly because they were quite a few people handling my account which lead to some information confusion.
The Verengo employees were always very courteous and up front about the information.  You will find many resources prompting you to buy solar if you can, and I would agree, but if you don't have the $20k (estimated) then leasing it is the way to go and here's why:
Your situation may vary, but my lowest electric bill (winter) was $120.  We have a modest 2k sqft home with A/C and evaporative cooler.  We use electricity responsibly, but we are power hungry in that I have a lot of air tools and appliances.  In the summer the bill would push in the mid $500 range depending on how much I was willing to suffer through my evaporative cooler on the 110+ degree weather days. After the engineering, evaluation, installation, and initiation, my bill is a flat $128.  Keep in mind that my lowest bill was $120 and I'm sure that included a vacation and a few days of maximizing darkness.  Electric like fuel will never go down, and even though they will be slight* (you will have your increase schedule) it is still comparably lower than the electric company's yearly price hike.
While I will not truly enjoy *free electric due to the lease, I did manage to lower my electric bill for years to come and the kicker is that I don't have to worry about the maintenance.  To sweeten the deal, if I come across some money and pay my system off in advance, there are no penalties.
So the system works, is remotely monitored, and I'm saving money.  What other concern could you have?  Installation?  The conduit on the sides leading to the inverter were color matched to my home.  I maintain my on evaporative cooler so I frequent the roof and know what things should look like up there.  All of their work is sealed properly and positioned straight.  They even repaired some previously cracked concrete tiles on my roof.  I was impressed by their service.
  • Do your research if in the area, there are multiple solar companies trying to get your business.  In the end I went with Verengo due to the customer service.  I ended up being happy with the price as well.  If you find this review helpful, mention me so we can both get added rebates ;).

Electrical questions, answered by experts

Electrical issues in Fort Bragg that require immediate attention include burning odors, sparking outlets, outdated panels, or visible water intrusion. These are potential fire hazards and should not be delayed. Projects like adding outlets or installing smart devices can be planned for drier months, but always prioritize urgent repairs to keep your home safe during storm and fire seasons.

Helpful?

Electrical projects in Fort Bragg can enhance your home’s resale appeal by improving safety, reliability, and energy efficiency. Upgrades like new circuit breakers, whole-home surge protection, and modern wiring are attractive to buyers, especially those seeking vacation rentals or remote workspaces. These improvements also help meet insurance requirements and demonstrate that your property is equipped for today’s electrical demands.

Helpful?

For minor electrical issues in Fort Bragg, always turn off power before replacing switches, outlets, or bulbs, and check for signs of moisture first. Use weather-resistant materials outdoors to withstand coastal conditions. Avoid tackling any repairs if you suspect outdated wiring or see evidence of water damage—these situations require a licensed professional familiar with local electrical safety standards.

Helpful?

Homes in Fort Bragg built before 1980, or those with flickering lights, frequent breaker trips, or heavy reliance on extension cords, often need electrical upgrades. Coastal humidity and salt air can accelerate wiring corrosion, especially in older properties. If your home features outdated panels or original wiring, or is located in a historic district, it’s wise to consider electrical safety improvements and wiring upgrades.

Helpful?

In Fort Bragg, signs that electrical work may need attention include rusted outlets, water stains near electrical boxes, missing GFCI outlets, or exposed wiring. Outlets that feel loose, warm, or fail to hold plugs securely are also warning signs. If you notice overloaded circuits or materials not rated for coastal conditions, it’s time to schedule an electrical safety inspection.
