"Their work was great--I have no problem with that and I love my new countertops! My only issue was not being sure of the time the workers would arrive and that the work would definitely be finished on the second day as originally planned."

"I had a great experience working with Pablo and his crew with California granite. They had a very quick turnaround from the time they demo countertops to installation and everything looks beautiful. I highly recommend them."

"Back to Perfection is a perfect name for this company. We didn't realize that Corian could be refinished. We were referred to Back to Perfection and treated to a professional experience process that was well done from start to finish. Our countered has Corian sinks as part of the countertop and they were pitted and wanted them repaired as well as refinishing the entire countertop. We were delighted with the result. The refinished countertops look like new and "Back to Perfection". Recommend Back to Reservation without reservation."

"Paul got back to my phone call within 30 mins. Gave me a quote on the phone, set a date to complete the job. Paul showed up on time, worked very hard took the shower surround off filled, sanded and cleaned the bath and shower surround. He taped around the bath and shower and then painted it. The job was very well done. I would completely advise anyone to use his skills. After the job was complete Paul said I would receive a 15% discount for being a Angies list subscriber.   Thanks Paul

Countertops and Backsplashes questions, answered by experts

Epoxy is the best sealer for concrete countertops. It fills in gaps, rough areas, and imperfections for a smooth finish and will usually last the life of the concrete. Other options include acrylic and polyurethane sealers, which protect the countertops from stains but must be reapplied every few years to maintain proper surface protection.

It all comes down to rarity and demand. Granite rocks with unique patterns or rare colorways like red, purple, and blue are more expensive than traditional designs. Some types of blue granite are extremely rare, like Azul Aran and Blue Bahia, driving the price up even further. The most expensive type of all is a unique design called Van Gogh granite. As the name suggests, it sort of looks like a painting.

Caesarstone® offers both quartz and porcelain counters, which are types of engineered stone countertops. Generally, you can expect to pay $50 to $200 per square foot for quartz countertops. If you decide to go with Caesarstone® quartz counters, then you’ll pay $75 to $125 per square foot, which is in the mid-range of what most quartz manufacturers charge.

Additionally, Caesarstone® is typically less expensive than quartzite, which is a natural quartz countertop that costs $80 to $220 per square foot. Depending on the Caesarstone® countertop you choose, you may spend significantly more on quartzite counters.

The minimum counter depth for a kitchen island is around the same as for a standard kitchen countertop, which is around 25 to 26 inches. This depth allows adequate room for food preparation, dining, and working on the island. However, as with other kitchen countertops, depth can vary based on specific needs and preferences in your household.

Yes, Corian® and other solid surface materials can be cut with standard woodworking tools, such as a circular saw or a jigsaw. However, it is crucial to use the correct type of blade to avoid damaging the material.

For a circular saw, a tungsten carbide-tipped blade is required; a triple chip grind blade is highly recommended. For a jigsaw, you should use a fine-tooth down-cutting blade. Do not use blades designed for cutting wood, as they can cause microfractures that weaken the edges of the countertop. A diamond blade is also unnecessary, as those are designed for harder materials like natural stone, which Corian is not.

After cutting, the edge will be rough. It is essential to sand and smooth the cut edge to prevent microfractures, which can eventually compromise the integrity of the countertop.
