"JB Roofing's estimate was the first of more than eight estimates I had received (including some of the top ranked on Angie's List in this area) of which were fair courteous, professional and prompt.  I have had several contractors do remodeling project for me on my 1,500 sq. foot residence which was built more than sixty years ago.  Until now I had almost given up hope that someone could have a fair price along with quality work in the Redding CA.  JB Roofing's owner/operator Justin Boring and his crew were both professional, attentive, honoring and courteous.
My roof was no easy fix!  It had an old outdated ventilation system, an uneven ridge, one layer of tin followed by three layers of shingles.  It included multiple points of rot and needed an almost total carport remodel.  Justin was not only knowledgeable in his area of expertise but he was also honest and above all willing to address any questions or concerns I brought up at any point during the project.  He regularly called me during the project to see if I had any questions or if anything needed to be addressed.   This type of humility is almost unheard of in this profession.  The work performed by his crew was done in a timely manor, and it surpassed my expectations of quality and cleanliness.  To the point my neighbors (who had just replaced their roof) were wishing they had used JB Roofing.  The price was fair and the work impeccable.  The surrounding area was cleaned after every day of work.  It was never a concern whether or not I or my children would step on a loose nail or tac.  For as much time and energy as I've put into getting bids and reviewing other contractors and roofers in Redding, I could not imagine choosing a better more qualified professional.  Thank you Justin and JB Roofing for restoring my confidence and trust!  And thank you for such a good looking roof.  I couldn't be happier!

Clay tile roofing is more susceptible to damage from impact than something like a metal roof or even asphalt shingles, so they aren’t ideal in areas that see frequent windblown debris or hail. Clay tile roofs are also an average of $8,000 more expensive than asphalt shingle roofs, so up-front cost is an important consideration to make before committing.

Yes, roof ridge caps are a necessary part of your roof system. Your roof ridge cap is at the peak of your roof, where two slopes of your roof meet. Roof ridge caps seal the seam and help protect your roof from water and debris, and because they’re pre-bent and thicker, they’re more suited to the job than regular roof shingles, which can break when bent.

Tipping your roofer or their crew is not customary or expected, but it is always appreciated. It is entirely up to you whether you want to give them extra money for their work. If you feel they have done an exceptional job, a tip can be a nice gesture. As an alternative way to show appreciation, you can provide coffee, breakfast, drinks, or grab-and-go snacks like cookies or doughnuts.

No, a chimney crown is not the same as a chimney cap. A chimney crown is a flat cement area on top of a masonry chimney. It starts where the masonry part of the chimney ends at the very top and domes upward toward the flue opening. A chimney cap sits on top of the crown over the flue. It is usually made of metal and allows smoke to escape without letting in rainwater.
