"After several long years of designing and permitting our home remodel during the pandemic, we were searching for a good contractor to build out our remodel and second story addition. Avi and David were wonderful; very thorough in explaining the process, answering all of our questions, and settling on a price that was reasonable and within our budget. During the building process, David was very responsive, available, and receptive to changes and last minute decisions made along the way. The project took longer than anticipated and there were some unexpected setbacks, but David and Avi worked quickly to fix issues and keep the project moving forward. At the end of the project they were very responsible about making sure we were satisfied with every last detail before completing the project. Our new home is beautiful and we're very happy with how it turned out, thanks to David and all the crews at So Cal Builders."

"Kyle was great, this was a small handyman job and it isn't easy finding a professional to do these small jobs. The work was done as quoted. And on time. The quality of the work was top notch and I will definitely be using Kyle again."

"This was my first remodel and I'd heard from friends all about the problems one can encounter. I'm happy to say that I didn't run into any of them with Coastal Kitchens and Baths. From demolition to completion, John Bailey and his team did excellent work -- on time, within budget and top quality The process went very smoothly, largely because of John's planning and experience. All the subcontractors were very good. They came when they said they would, did the work efficiently, and cleaned up after themselves. I will use John again, and I heartily recomment him.

"We found McCormick home builders through Angie’s list. They were not one of our original contacts, but they contacted us and came out to give us a quote. Matteo was extremely helpful, informative, honest, and gave us reasonable realistic prices, and did not try to inflate the prices or pressure us in anyway. We felt very comfortable with him immediately. We felt like he was a member of the family that we could just talk to and ask questions he was very personable. He gave us his contact number in case we had other questions and he was always available when we needed him for any type of questions or concerns. Mateo‘s team did a beautiful job. They were fast. They were efficient. They cleaned up beautifully. They did a wonderful job. They were very considerate of our time our needs and our neighbors. They were an absolute pleasure to work with. I would highly recommend Matteo from McCormick home builders for any home building projects, and we will be calling him again in the future!"

"We hired D2A Construction to build a detached ADU on our lot, and I’m still in shock at how smoothly everything went. Dani was an incredible project manager — responsive, honest, and always willing to take the time to answer our million questions. He kept the entire job running like clockwork, even when we had a few unexpected city inspection delays. His team was fantastic and the craftsmanship was solid across the board. We now have a modern, fully functional unit that we’re planning to rent out. It blends beautifully with the main house, and people can’t believe it’s a new build. If you want a company that actually delivers what they promise, D2A is it!"

One starting point to find a local home builder is to collect suggestions from friends and neighbors. However, it’s still wise to do some more research before you hire a builder. Read reviews to supplement any word-of-mouth recommendations. Check sources like Angi that have standards and criteria in place to screen the pros it lists can also help you find more reputable local home builders.

Qualified, licensed electricians will charge from $50 to $100 per hour. The cost to hire an electrician for emergency visits may range from $100 to $200 per hour because this urgent service usually takes place during off hours and may require an electrician to leave or reschedule jobs they’re currently working on. Scheduling work on holidays or during periods of high customer demand, like after a major storm, will also lead to higher rates or extra fees.
