"Benchmark AC was excellent to work with. Their prices were competitive with other AC companies for a Lennox system. They are very knowledgeable and did great work. While they were installing my new unit they even noticed a kinked suction line on my second AC unit (my home warranty company previously sent out a horrible AC company and they kinked the suction line while installing a new coil). Luckily Benchmark caught that before damage was done to my second AC Unit. Because of there professionalism and great work, I was able to get my home warranty company to agree to let them do the fix for the bent suction line. Once again, they did a great job! I highly recommend Benchmark AC and they will be the only AC company I use from now on!"

You should know the main components of an air conditioner: the condenser coils, evaporator coils, drip pan, AC filter, ducts, and refrigerant. While all portable AC units will collect moisture as part of their cooling and dehumidifying process, whether and how often you need to drain them depends on what kind of unit you have and the natural humidity levels where you live. For example, if you live in a very dry area and have a self-evaporating unit, you may not need to drain your portable AC very often at all. Some units may automatically drain collected moisture out the window through their exhaust vent.

If you don’t clean your AC coils, dirt and debris build up inside your unit, making transferring heat more difficult. As a result, your HVAC system will work harder to run, potentially increasing your energy usage and utility bills. Neglected coils may also become corroded, which can lead to refrigerant leaks and mold growth—both of which can cause a slew of negative health impacts.

On a summer day, expect your AC to run between 12 and 16 hours. However, this time frame depends on just how hot it is outside and the comfortable temperature you’re hoping to maintain indoors.
