"I hired K-Technology Services to install an EV charger at my home. David was very professional, a good communicator snd quoted a fair price. His work was very clean and had no problem working on off hours to fit my schedule. He came to quote my project at night after my work day and did the install on a Saturday again so I could be there. He was pleasant to work with, followed through and was at my house to meet the inspector to address any issues and make sure we passed inspection. I enjoyed workin with him and will absolutely call him for any of our electrical needs in the future."

Lighting questions, answered by experts

No, you should not leave LED Christmas lights up all year. While the LED lights themselves are very durable, their wiring and casings can be as vulnerable as any Christmas lights. They’re subject to drying out, experiencing cold or sun damage that causes them to crack, and even damage caused by gnawing pests. (The same is true of incandescents.) If you want your lights to last the years that they’re rated for, bring them inside after Christmas is over.

One possibility is that they aren’t getting enough sunlight during the day, which could be due to a lack of sunshine in your area or trees blocking the solar panel. Alternatively, if the solar panel is dirty or the batteries are dying, your solar lights might not operate at full brightness.

The cost to repair outdoor lighting typically ranges from $100 to $400. The final price depends on the severity of the damage, the specific issue, the type of lighting system, and the parts needed. Some repairs are priced per fixture, averaging $100 to $300, and there may be additional fees if the lighting is difficult to access.

The easiest and best way to power your outdoor lights is with the use of outdoor outlets. Most building codes now require exterior outlets in homes, so you likely already have outdoor outlets available to plug into. However, you can have these outlets installed if your space doesn’t currently include them.

Before investing in motion sensor lights, there are a couple of disadvantages worth noting. For starters, they’re not as reliable as other forms of lighting. Motion sensor lights can be accidentally triggered by pets or wind, which can become a nuisance after a while. The opposite situation can occur, too, where they don’t turn on when you need them to.
