"William and his team did a fantastic job upgrading our meter panel. They took care of all the permits and had the job done on time and on schedule. They were extremely communicative throughout the entire process and I would use them for all electrical services in the future."

"The job was done quickly and efficiently. I had an outdoor outlet and switch installed for a fountain project -- and it looks great. I also had outside security light fixtures and a back porch light installed. I would highly recommend Frank's services!"

"Impressed with Luis & team. First installed new outlets for a TV, moved an outlet, installed outdoor lights, then upgraded my electric panel. Each time great work, very reliable, and I know it’s fairly priced."

"Quinn was professional and courteous. In addition to the EV charger installation, he also installed 2 new circuits with breakers and new conduit. All the work looked amazing and he and his associate cleaned up everything when they were done. Couldn’t have been happier with the work done. Would highly recommend Quality Electric."

Customers say: True professional

"Called to say they were running late due to car show in downtown Riverside.. great communication. Two brothers worked together well and got a dead circuit figured out quickly then installed new ceiling light fixtures and cleaned up wiring in the hot and confined attic in my house. Seemed a bit expensive but this was a crew of two that showed up ready to work and spent about 5 hours at my house so it works out to $100 an hour each for professional electricians which is very reasonable IMHO."

Generator Install questions, answered by experts

If you have a transfer switch properly installed, the generator and main electrical power cannot feed the system at the same time. However, you should still shut off the power at your main circuit breaker panel before activating the generator. If you do that, you’ll simply need to shut off the generator and reset your circuit breaker once the local power comes back on.

Generators are usually sized by running watts and starting watts. Ideally, you’ll want a generator that can offer both the necessary running watts and starting watts for everything you need to power without going beyond 90% of its capacity. Calculate your home’s electrical load based on the breakers in your home or adding up the appliance and lighting needs of connected rooms.

Here’s what you can run with different wattages and types of generators:

Portable generator:

  • 2,000 watts can handle a large appliance like a freezer or refrigerator, plus a few smaller items like phones or computer chargers.

  • 4,000 watts will keep two large appliances operating and a few smaller devices.

  • 8,000 watts should power most essential appliances and other devices, including a sump pump, well pump, or your dishwasher.

Partial to whole-house generator:

  • 20,000 watts and above will make it seem like your home’s power is still on.

In some situations, yes. Never try to put biofuel into any home generator without checking the specifics first. If a generator has the ability to run on diesel, it can also run pure biofuel (the clear kind made from seed oils, for example). But if you are using biofuel made from animal fats or vegetable oils, the generator will need significant modifications before it can handle a sludgier type of biofuel.

Yes, installing a generator usually increases your property value because buyers are getting the added peace of mind knowing they’ll be able to maintain power through blackouts. In most cases, you should see close to a 100% return on investment (ROI). Keep in mind that home generators usually need a permanent foundation, and installing a concrete slab will likely raise your property taxes slightly.
