"Excellent work laying out a residential landscape using pine bark with river stone walkways lined by larger rocks creating decorative paths for low maintenance, water conserving and weed free garden access. Also pleased with light carpentry to repair fence gates, reinforce some wobbly fence posts, and also hauling away fallen branches and leaves. Always show up on time, review what is to be done and a walk-through afterwards to be sure I'm satisfied with everything. A polite and professional team. Have employed them several times this year, on the recommendation of a friend."

"First thing first, yes I would and will have Dennis work for us again. Dennis responded to my inquiry within a few hours. He came over to our home and found what I needed and made a few suggestions for a better front yard. His estimate was good, time to complete the project was great. His estimate 3 days and actual days were 3. His crew (3) were ready and quite able to the task. Our lawn and concrete work looks great. A big improvement over the weeds from h*** that I had struggled with for too many years. I highly recommend him at Vinny's Landscaping.com"

"Rolando's team did a great job on my backyard. I had 4-5' weeds dead, too high for me to knock down. They knocked them down, bagged them all up and raked up my pine needles which I wasn't expecting! It's beautiful now can walk in my backyard again! Thank you!!"

"Pablo was professional and gave us a very detailed estimate of services. His crew always showed up on time each day and they worked hard. They followed safety procedures and put in a new front/back lawn with an sprinkler system. They also put in bushes so that we have a nice green hedge around the yard. I love looking out the window at our new green lawn. Thanks to Pablo and his crew, lawncare is going to be so much easier."

Weed Services questions, answered by experts

They regularly monitor health, applying preventative fungicides and providing customized care to reduce disease risks.

No, definitely not. Pulling weeds by hand is the single most effective way to remove them because you're eliminating the entire plant—roots and all—so it won’t have a chance to grow or spread. Setting time aside a few times per week to pull weeds can keep them at bay. If the number of weeds gets overwhelming, then you can resort to other methods.

Yes, if your home is poorly maintained and has weeds and overgrowth, it can affect your home appraisal and lower the value. Home buyers want to see a well-kept home, and if yours lacks curb appeal whether inundated by weeds or not, you could be neglecting the potential for it to reach its full value.

There are organic herbicide options that will kill grass but not flowers, including white vinegar or a dish soap solution. Commercial selective herbicides can also target grass over other plants, but read the instructions carefully to avoid damaging your garden. Herbicides that kill grass but not flowers usually include ingredients like clethodim and sethoxydim. Otherwise, your best bet will be to weed by hand.

It’s best to pull weeds when the soil is wet, as it’s much easier. Wet soil is much softer than dry soil, making it easier to pull the entire weed up by the root. Also, since the soil is wet, the roots will let go of the soil and slide up with less resistance. Be careful when working on your wet garden, though, as wet soil is easier to compact, which can harm your plants.
