"Brian came out to my place on short notice, within hours, and repaired my annoying running toilet. He had the part with him and had the toilet fixed in minutes. I will be using this company for future repairs. His price was awesome, too."

"A very knowledgeable and courteous young man arrived. He was able to diagnose the issue at no cost. Unfortunately, it was not a plumbing issue; he could do anything for us. But I will call them next time there is a need."

"I hired them to snake my shower drain and fix my running toilet. The guy said he needed a part for the toilet and he would have to order it. I said okay, paid him in advance and said he didn't need to make an appointment, just come back and put it in. That was a month ago and I haven't heard anything since. $270. These guys suck. Edit: after posting this review, the company contacted me. The workmen said that he completely forgot to finish the work. He came by and finished the work within 7 days. On the plus side, the main job was snaking the drain. That was handled quickly and efficiently within 3 days of my initial contact with the company via HomeAdvisor. On the minus side, the simplicity and efficiency of using the internet was lost due to the back-and-forth on a $90 replacement of a toilet flapper. With the same exact flapper, as it turned out. It just needed adjustment."

Toilets questions, answered by experts

If you need to repair part of your plumbing, it will cost an average of $330. The cost of plumbing repairs is influenced by several factors, including the type of drain and the specific repair needed.

Common problems include leaks, clogs, and running water. Regular maintenance prevents most issues.

First, check that you have cut off the water supply to your toilet. This is a project that can only be done safely if running water cannot reach your toilet fixture. If you're seeing water trickle out after you've confirmed that the water supply is shut off, you can probably rest assured that what you're seeing isn't a problem. It's common for leftover water to spill out when you're removing your toilet's fill valve. If something goes wrong while you're working on your toilet, you'll need to look at your home's policy to see if your homeowner insurance covers water damage.

The cost of making a bathroom accessible can be $3,000 to $25,000, but you could spend as much as $50,000 building a brand-new ADA-compliant bathroom. Some bathroom accessibility upgrades to consider include:

  • Installing grab bars: $100–$500

  • Lowering cabinets and vanities: $1,200–$2,500

  • Installing modified doors: $700–$1,500

  • Installing a modified toilet: $400–$1,000

  • Installing an accessible sink and faucet: $100–$1,000

  • Adding a walk-in tub: $1,100–$17,000

  • Converting a bathtub into a walk-in tub: $350–$1,000

  • Installing a wheelchair-accessible shower: $2,000–$7,500

  • Installing a shower ramp: $16–$300

Generally, toilet leaking is not an emergency unless the leakage is severe. However, any leakage at the bottom should be addressed as soon as possible because it could lead to water damage to the floors, under the tiles, or into the walls. Leaks at the bottom can also lead to mold growth if unaddressed.
