"Professional, knowledgeable and quick service. Nelson and his partner was on time for the installation took about 3 hours to replace my old leaking Rinnai tankless with a newer model Rinnai tankless water heater and his price is fair. Highly recommend."

"Quick response to replace a tankless water heater that went completely out and had to be replaced. The employees of Lees Plumbing were very professional. The only downside was the cost for replacement which ended up costing 5400.00"

"WJB Construction Inc, was 1 of 3 companies we contacted for a bathroom remodel. Katy and Josh were very informative and helpful throughout the project. Their workers were very considerate and worked in a timely fashion. Josh listened to all of our questions and concerns. We would highly recommend them and would definitely do business with them again. Should have taken before pictures. They replaced the tile countertop, removed jacuzzi tub, created new large walk in shower, replaced flooring, painted cabinets, ceiling, walls and updated lighting and exhaust fans. We are very happy 😊"

"Mike, owner of TRU Design Restoration takes on his Trade with TRU passion. He delivers exactly what he promises. Done when promised, Striped sanded and stained, 8 coats of Oil Polyurethane with intensive sanding between coats. Asked us to let it cure for a week and he will return to polish out the already incredible shine. Mike exceeded all of our expectations. Sincerely, thank you Mike"

Bathtub Replacement questions, answered by experts

The plumbing industry has standardized the sizes for bathtub drains. They are 1 1/2 inches wide to fit all standard bathtubs from 14 to 26 inches deep. The standard sizing is to ensure that the drain fits into the P trap, a special part of your piping that prevents sewer water from bubbling up into your home (yuck).

Different bathtub materials have various advantages and disadvantages. Cast iron and copper are considered the most durable materials because they are dense and resistant to damage from scratches or dents. However, cast-iron tubs are heavy, expensive, and may not be suitable for upper floors. Copper offers unique benefits but requires regular chemical treatment to prevent a patina from forming, making cast iron a less maintenance-intensive option. Porcelain is a good second choice for durability. For those on a budget, acrylic is a popular option, though it is less durable.

While they’re heavier than their counterparts, cast-iron tubs are very simple to maintain. They have no seams and are durable, making them the easiest tub to maintain. While fiberglass and acrylic tubs are also relatively simple to maintain, they often have seams, making maintenance a little more difficult.

A peeling bathtub is not a good thing. It’s a sign that the finish is coming off, and continued exposure to water and cleaning products can continue to damage the finish and eventually the underlying structure of the tub. What starts as a few chips or flakes can worsen into large chunks peeling off.

When buying caulk, look for ones labeled for tub and tile. These have either acrylic latex or silicone compounds. This allows the caulk to stick to smooth surfaces and prevent mildew from forming.
