"I have been in the business for 40 years and he is the only person that I would hire for doing that particular kind of work. If there is a scale of 1 to 5, he is beyond that scale because he is that good."

"They worked very hard and quickly. No wasted time. Did a great job. Only thing that bothered me was inconsistency in grout color. Maybe it wasn't mixed thoroughly? Bad bag of grout? Don't know enough about grout to know for sure why that happened. Bottom line though... they did an excellent job."

Small jobs welcome

"Very professional start to finish. Received a quick detailed estimate, and scheduling and service were also very promptà ¢à  à ¦speedy in fact. Our countertops look fabulous, exceeding expectations. Ità ¢à  à  s difficult to find someone to do this work, and I had my doubts about using a company I found on the internet. But we are so glad we took the chance on Surface Link because they did a perfect job. It is Hard to find a contractor we can say that about todayà ¢à  à ¦. We are often disappointed. Not with this company. Or this technician (Steve ) who is a pro at this. Time will tell, but as of today, we are thrilled."

"Efrain was very professional and friendly.  He first looked at the project and quoted me a price for material and labor on his first visit.  Materials were paid for immediately as well as 10% of labor cost.  Once the stone was acquired he returned to create a template, at which time I paid an additional 40% of labor cost.  There was a bit of a problem with the way his stone supplier cut the counter to his template pattern and instead of bringing an inferior product he chose to contact me and postpone the install until the stone was corrected.  In two days the improvements were made to the stone and he promptly returned to install.  The stone counter was cut with precision, edges were rounded flawlessly, and overall appearance was excellent.  During the installation Efrain noticed that one small portion of the counter would look a lot better with a small backsplash and offered to cut the stone with remaining material and return to install the following day.  He did return and the addition made a big difference in the overall appearance of the countertop.  On that final day he also offered to help me lift and mount the BBQ grill onto the countertop.  I couldn't imagine the countertop looking any better than it does, picture perfect.  Working with Efrain was very easy and personable.  I personally appreciate the decision he made to call me when he was not happy with the original stone cut, he new I was anxious to complete the project for hosting holiday guests but he did not compromise his reputation and explained the situation honestly.  Efrain is very experienced and I would recommend his services to anyone.

Countertops and Backsplashes questions, answered by experts

The standard kitchen counter size is typically between 24 to 25 inches wide and 25 to 26 inches deep. Wider countertops are also common, with widths of 30 to 36 inches among the most popular choices. Note that these are just general guidelines, and there is flexibility to custom the size of countertops to suit individual needs and the space.

You can cut food on tough, scratch-resistant granite countertops. However, these hard surfaces can quickly dull your knife blades, and continual cutting in the same spot can eventually lead to marks forming and compromising the protective sealant. As with any countertop material, it’s always best to use a chopping board.

No, in most cases, you do not have to remove your countertops to reface cabinets. Since refacing primarily involves updating the doors, drawer fronts, and exterior surfaces, your existing countertops can usually stay right where they are, making the process quicker and less disruptive. However, if your counters prevent the access needed to remove doors and drawers, they may need to be temporarily removed. It's best to consult with a professional cabinet contractor to assess your specific kitchen layout during an estimate.

The average countertop square footage in a kitchen is 30 square feet, but that number varies widely depending on the size of the kitchen. Some smaller kitchens may only have one stretch of countertop or an L-shape. Larger kitchens can include an island or peninsula and more expansive countertops. When deciding what works best for your home, measure your kitchen countertop and make sure to include countertop cost calculations in your budget.

The minimum counter depth for a kitchen island is around the same as for a standard kitchen countertop, which is around 25 to 26 inches. This depth allows adequate room for food preparation, dining, and working on the island. However, as with other kitchen countertops, depth can vary based on specific needs and preferences in your household.
