"I have hired to do the work, but they sub contract it to Carrera Elite Constructions Inc. The subcontractor didn't show up and the work was terrible. They did not show up on time, they are times that they working 2 or 3 days in week. The communication the RCLL and Carerra was terrible, I will pay RCLL but Carrera demanding more money for the project. They did not use the material that they said they will use. And they are some electrical outlets that they toke out but they didn't reinstall and they have to come back several time to get it right for different outlets. They come in and after couple hours of work they will leave without finishing the task."

WOODHARMONIC is a Los Angeles based design and build wood shop that specializes in high-end custom cabinets. We specialize in Custom Kitchen Cabinets, Plywood Fronts, Made-To-Order Bookshelves, Built-in Wall Units, Entertainment Centers & Hardwood Tops. We love helping our creative clients with their fine carpentry needs, from consultation to design, project management and installation, we provide the expertise that is required to deliver on time, every time.

"Alejandro is definitely an artisan in the old tradition, having been trained in his craft by his father. He is a perfectionist. Customer satisfaction is very important to him. I hired him to construct and install a customized set of bookshelves and office workspace in my home office. The result is both functional and beautiful. A word of advice: if you have trouble imagining in three dimensions or you lack an aptitude for thinking ahead about the minutiae of design details that will interface with Alejandro's woodwork (e.g., any electrical outlets or wiring details), you might really benefit from hiring a designer to work with you. The specifications that you give to Alejandro is exactly what he will create."

As screened and approved cabinet re-facing contractors with HomeAdvisor, we are licensed and ready to take on your projects. Our passion for helping the custom cabinetmaker runs deep. We know how difficult it is to start a project for yourself. Every project is unique and risky and every project puts your reputation at stake. For those reasons and more, we strive to prove that we could make a difference to our clients. We work hard to remove risk, increase reliability, and create an environment where being associated with us makes things easier for you.

"DO NOT HIRE!!! If I could give "0" stars I would. Lacking attention to detail. Crooked cabinets and drawers. Splitting wood and paint. Unresponsive to, and do not return calls. Does not honor warranty work. Claimed to give us a functional kitchen without regard to quality of their work. They also did our tile work which is hideous. It is so uneven it is literally 3D when light shines on it. They took longer than expected, wanted 90% payment when only 50% work was completed. Threatened to pull off job if 90% payment wasn't made when only a little over 50% work was completed. I can post photos if necessary."

Cabinet Making questions, answered by experts

To successfully build a shelf unit with plywood, you’ll need sheets that are at least 0.25 inches thick. Any thinner and your shelves will be flimsy and less likely to last. Expect to pay around $300 for a professional to build a basic shelving unit, or up to $1,300 for custom built-in shelves.

Typically, a medicine cabinet should be installed about 60 to 72 inches above the floor. This height ensures that it's easily accessible for most individuals while allowing for proper visibility and convenience. However, the ideal height may vary based on individual preferences and the average eye level of the users in your household.

There are a few key differences between custom and semi-custom cabinets. While custom cabinets offer complete customization, semi-custom cabinets are less personalized, offering fewer paint color, finish, and hardware choices. In addition, custom cabinets typically take longer to install due to the build time, whereas semi-custom cabinets are prefabricated and therefore faster to install.

Many cabinets use “J-pulls” or other handless designs. However, frequent use also gets these areas very dirty over time. A simple household cleaner and a soft washing cloth is usually enough to clean these areas when grime builds up. Adding a layer of lemon oil or beeswax can help prevent finishes from wearing off.

The cost to install soft-close drawers is usually around $40 to $100 each when hiring a professional. If you’re looking to DIY, you can pick up soft-close drawer slides for anywhere from $5 to $230 each, depending on the quality and quantity. This price range may vary based on whether you choose a heavy-duty, side mount, under mount, or self-closing slide.
