"Frank was great. He was communicative, transparent with pricing, and incredibly efficient (finished painting, wallpaper, and some wall repairs in two rooms in two days). He was also very informative about my options based on the results I was trying to achieve, and talked me through alternative solutions/got creative when we hit a couple unexpected hiccups that were my fault to ensure I would be 100% satisfied (I ordered the wrong sized wallpaper for one of the rooms). Thank you, Frank!"

"James was punctual, incredibly polite and thorough in installing an accent wall of wallpaper in my daughter's room, and a large decal in my son's room. Would absolutely hire him again!"

"I am very pleased with the work of Urbina's Painting Company. Every aspect of the project, from initial quotation to final details was very professionally handled. The project was completed ahead of schedule. I am very particular about work done on my house and could not have asked for more. I will definitely use Urbina's for future work, and I am recommending them to my neighbors."

"Walt was wonderful to work with. He does a spectacular job, with great attention to detail. The price matches the quality, so be forewarned. =) The job was to paint all the interior walls in a 4br, 2ba, 1930 sq ft house. The job did not include trim, or ceilings. Some rooms have vaulted ceilings. The house was unoccupied and unfurnished at the time. Walt originally expected the job to take 8-10 business days, but was able to complete in about 5. Overall, I am extremely happy with the work, and I'll happily work with him again to paint the exterior, and the trim/ceilings at some point."

"Bill and the rest of the Fine Point team were incredible.
They sanded and repainted a large kitchen with stained oak cabinets. Since the oak didn't take the paint like other woods, they applied an extra coat of primer and and extra finishing coat to make sure that it looked the way we hoped. They used a spray, which helped give the cabinets a professional, uniform coat. They look fantastic.
When the paint dried, some of the cabinets didn't close properly. This is not a criticism?when we told Bill, he came by the next day to fix those that were misaligned (which could have happened in any project), so the final kitchen looked perfect.
The whole team was really friendly. They put in extra hours to make sure the job was done well, and honored their initial estimate, which was completely reasonably compared to some estimates we received.
They touched up several areas of the house. When we couldn't find a matching paint for the upstairs bathroom, Bill repainted the entire wall with another paint, and he did it for a nominal fee.
What can I say? The team was patient with us as clients, thorough with the job, and masters of the craft. Our house looks fantastic, and I'd hire them or recommend them in a heartbeat.

"Extremely professional and high quality work. Beginning with the review of work scope and comprehensive proposal through the execution and wrap up — good communication, documentation and most importantly excellence in quality at every phase of work. Daily work began on time (as allowed by HOA defined work hours) and always finished leaving the work area clean and orderly. It was a pleasure to work with such a pro!"

"I love the job they did painting the outside of my house and some rooms inside. I never dreamed a company would go above and beyond the way they did by being so careful with my shrubs and yard decor."

Wallpapering questions, answered by experts

There can be too much of a good thing when it comes to accent walls, so avoid creating one in every room in your house. Some rooms, like bathrooms and kitchens, don’t naturally lend themselves to accent walls, so it’s best to skip them there. Of course, your home should reflect your own sense of style, so if accent walls in multiple rooms appeal to you, there’s no hard-and-fast rule forbidding it.

In most cases, it is not recommended to wallpaper over existing wallpaper, as the success depends on the type of paper already on the wall. While you might be able to cover non-coated wallpaper, you should never apply new wallpaper over a vinyl-coated one, which is more common. Doing so can lead to poor adhesion, resulting in bubbles, imperfections, and peeling. It can also trap moisture, potentially causing hazardous mold growth between the layers.

Even if the existing wallpaper is suitable, experts recommend applying only one new layer. Adding multiple layers (more than two total) can cause significant adhesion problems, leading to warping and bubbling. For the best results, the recommended approach is to remove the old wallpaper and all paste residue before hanging the new paper. If you are unsure about your wallpaper type, consider consulting a professional.

Peel-and-stick wallpaper is designed to be removed without damaging walls, making it a good choice for renters or temporary design changes. However, damage to paint or drywall can occur under certain conditions. To prevent issues, the wall surface must be properly prepared before application—it should be clean, smooth, dry, and correctly primed or painted. Applying wallpaper to a freshly painted surface can cause the paint to peel off during removal. Additionally, removing the wallpaper too quickly or aggressively can also cause damage. For best results, always follow the manufacturer's instructions for both application and removal.

If you prefer peel-and-stick to traditional wallpaper, you can skip the priming process. Many manufacturers don't require an additional primer if you’re installing peel-and-stick wallpaper to painted walls. However, if you’re applying peel-and-stick wallpaper to unfinished drywall, you’ll need to apply a primer first.

You should be aware of the current wallpaper and interior trends before hanging it, especially if you are planning on selling or listing your home soon. Do people in your market tend to prefer bold designs and accent walls, or does having a simpler print all over seem like a better idea? Lastly, you want something that appeals to your aesthetic preferences; hanging wallpaper is an investment of your time and money after all.
