"Zohar and his team of specialist people did a complete remodeling of the kitchen including two bathrooms. The remodeling included all the custom cabinets for the kitchen and raising the ceiling in the kitchen by 10 inches, installing all the new floors in the bathrooms, adding all the new lights in the kitchen and bathrooms, Repaint all the interior walls of the kitchen and bathrooms too. All the design done by Zohar. The work was better than perfect and the cabinets fits like a glove to the kitchen space and they are mainly outstanding. The design part of the kitchen and bathrooms are one of Zohar's main qualifications. Supervision to perfection, dependable vendors for all the materials and appliances which added another reason why this remodeling was a success. The remodeling project was over after 4 weeks of daily work and it was 2 days longer than projected, but it's was not an issue at all because it came out better than what we wanted. All the list for minor repairs that were needed to be corrected, were fixed by the people in swiftly and professionally way. Regarding the final amount of the project – the price was good and Zohar didn’t increased it even though with the several changes that we asked and he did for us. We'll happily use them again."

"Great! He was prompt and Scott and his 2 other guys helping him install these ceiling fans were all extremely polite, friendly and clean. They took extra care to move my furniture out of the way and laid plenty of tarp to prevent any sort of debris or damage from hitting my wood floors which I greatly appreciated! After 3 electricians really let us down we were so happy to find Berryhill! They were just one of the best contractors I have found on Angies list! Would highly reccommend."

"I wanted to write a note to say that I called Lifeguard Electric in San Clemente, California and Kris at Lifeguard Electric came over and gave a bid within 2 hours of my first contact and spent an hour checking out all of my electrical problems & my panel box. We made an appointment and he came back that following Saturday and replaced my lighted 60" ceiling fan in a bedroom, bathroom dehumidifier exhaust fan, along with switches & outlets throughout the residence. Even though it took longer then originally predicted, he stayed right at his original estimate. Excellent A+ service, experienced & knowledgable, very reasonable prices, and all my electrical fans, switches & outlets are now working!"

Ceiling Fans questions, answered by experts

If you’re removing a ceiling fan without visible screws, start by locating the fan canopy—a round cover placed above the fan blades and motor. There should be a thin ring that can be turned counterclockwise to remove the canopy and reveal the screws. After unscrewing the fan, you can disconnect the wires and remove the entire fan from the mounting hardware. For safety, make sure the fan switch is turned off before you remove the canopy. It may be easier to remove the fan blades first, too.

For a 12x12 room, a fan between 36" and 50" will work, as it falls in the range for spaces up to 144 square feet. These size fans provide adequate air circulation and ensure a comfortable environment without being overpowering. Even better, they come in a broad range of styles, offering aesthetics and functionality, making them suitable choices for maintaining an ideal room temperature and enhancing overall comfort.

The direction you want your ceiling fan to move in depends on the season you’re in. During summer, you want it to move counterclockwise to produce a cooling downdraft. During winter, you want it to move clockwise to circulate warm air throughout the room.

To determine if your ceiling box can support a fan, you must check if it is specifically fan-rated. Manufacturers are required to indicate this on the box itself. You may need to remove the existing light fixture to look inside the ceiling box for an inscription stating it is rated for fan use. If you do not see this confirmation, the box is likely not strong enough and must be replaced with a fan-rated junction box. For a proper and safe installation, you should also use a fan brace to secure the new box between the ceiling joists, which provides the necessary support for the fan's weight and motion.

Keeping dust off fans can keep them working optimally and help keep dust mites or bacteria from building up. Dust fans weekly with a duster, microfiber cloth, old pillowcase, or vacuum attachment. You can also try spraying a clean fan with a store-bought dust-repellent product or making a DIY dust-repellent with water and a small amount of liquid fabric softener mixed in.
