"I have had the original QC whole house fan for about 8 years. It worked really well and I was happy with it. (Whole house fans suck the cool night air into your house and blows the hot air out of your attic because your house cannot cool down with hot air in the attic, and can ultimately mimmic the feel of air conditioning but for pennies vs dollars.)  However I decided to upgrade  by installing the newest version, the Stealth, and I'm so glad I did. It is a little quieter and definitely more powerful than the original. When I walk past an open window I can really feel the cool night air being pulled in. Feels great. The other great thing about the QC Stealth is that it now has a more modern designed rectangular  22"vent with a metal grid and metal flaps inside that close when not in use and open when running, so it is closed off to your attic when not in use.( Better and more efficient I think)  The old style was just a simple circular vent that remained open to your attic at all times which I did not  really like.  The new version also comes with a digital shut off timer so if you want to turn it on at night and then go to bed, you can decide how long it will run.
  Direct Electric installed this QC whole house fan and I was very happy with them. They did a fantastic job, efficient, professional, knowledgable and were nice people too.  I will definitely hire them again for other jobs around the house. I'm making a list. I recommend the fan and I recommend Direct Electric.   Also I have heard that next year builders will be required to put whole house fans into all new construction for energy efficiency. A good experience.
