"• The coupler on the trailer was bent. • The trailer itself was in good condition. • The owner called Alex Ortega for assistance. • Alex reviewed the situation and I purchased a new coupler from Harbor Freight. • Alex spent six hours welding the new coupler onto the trailer. • The job was done very well, and the owner was very pleased. • The owner recommends Alex Ortega for any welding jobs. • The owner uses the trailer to transport their trike and move items from stores. • The owner notes that paying for delivery from stores can add up, making a trailer a worthwhile investment."

"Max and his team at Twin Peaks Metal did a fantastic job from measurements to completion in 2 weeks for a custom gate and 80 feet of wrought iron fencing. The workmanship is beyond great with excellent welds to top notch installation with powder coating. Maxâ s prices were also very competitive and I will certainly use him again if I need any additional metal or fencing work in the future. Thanks Max, Devin, and Garret for a job well done! ð ð »"

"This is a family owned business and it really shows...everyone cares. Roger's responded quickly to my request for an estimate. Out the next day in person to give me an estimate and the following day to repair my wrought iron fence. Told me how to maintain the fence in spots where there is rust appearing. Super professional all around and very reasonable. I will use them again and they have my highest recommendation."

"The whole process took months from first measure to final install. There was a problem with something incorrect being ordered and that pushed us out. There was a lot of difficulty with scheduling because it was a multiple day job and both of us in the household work full time and would have to take time off work to have the install completed. I don't know if some companies understand that people work full time and can't just change their schedule day to day, usually they need to be able to plan ahead a couple weeks at least.
Overall the final product we are happy with but the process to get there was not easy, but the price was by far the least expensive that we found. When we pick the least expensive contractor for a home improvement job usually what we say is "you get what you pay for". So for years to come we will have beautiful windows that were headache to get done but for someone who likes to save a few thousand dollars I think that I am happy that we went with them, I just wish it was bit easier to get it completed.

"Debbie and her professional team did an outstanding job on a custom designed, welded iron driveway gate for our 1934 Spanish-style home in Palm Springs Old Movie Colony. The work was managed well and the artistry of the iron work -- magnificent. We were very satisfied with the service and final product. Would refer this company to others with no hesitation."

Wrought Iron questions, answered by experts

Wood, vinyl, chain link, and aluminum are common materials. Choose based on durability, maintenance needs, and aesthetics.

The most common height of a front yard fence is around 3 feet high, but it can vary depending on your zoning laws. If your fence is meant to create privacy, something closer to 6 feet or higher will do the trick. Most of the time, the highest fence you’ll see is 8 feet tall.

The ideal distance between fence posts depends on several factors, including the terrain, the purpose of the fence, and the material used. For different types of fences, here are some general guidelines:

  • Wood and Metal Fences: Posts should be spaced between 5 and 8 feet apart.

  • Vinyl Fences: Spacing can be between 6 and 8 feet.

  • Chain-Link, Mesh, or Lattice Fences: Posts can be set anywhere from 4 to 25 feet apart, with 4-10 feet being common for chain-link.

  • Wire Fences: Spacing can be up to 12 feet apart.

Installing a fence when the ground is frozen presents challenges, but it's possible with the right approach. First, mark and measure the fence line accurately. Use a power auger or manual post-hole digger to create holes in the frozen ground, ideally when it's less rigid during warmer parts of the day. Consider using pre-made fence post anchors or driving metal posts into the ground. Ensure posts are secure with concrete for stability. Allow extra time for the concrete to cure. Additionally, be cautious of frost heave, which may affect post-alignment. Installing in milder winter conditions is often more manageable.

Yes, fence posts need to be installed below the frost line to ensure stability and prevent heaving caused by freezing and thawing cycles. The frost line is the depth at which soil freezes during winter. By placing posts below this line, often around 3 to 4 feet deep or as recommended for your specific region, you reduce the risk of the ground shifting, which can lead to leaning or unstable fences. Adequate depth provides better anchoring and helps maintain the fence's integrity, ensuring it remains secure and upright throughout changing seasons.
