Overall the final product we are happy with but the process to get there was not easy, but the price was by far the least expensive that we found. When we pick the least expensive contractor for a home improvement job usually what we say is "you get what you pay for". So for years to come we will have beautiful windows that were headache to get done but for someone who likes to save a few thousand dollars I think that I am happy that we went with them, I just wish it was bit easier to get it completed.
Professional service at a great price!!!! sticks by their product!
In retrospect, this was not a great experience. Our kitchen remodel that is now nearly completed has, overall, been less problematic and frustrating than getting the windows. As a business and leadership consultant with 30+ years experience, I believe that Dan would better serve his customers and his business if he inspected every job with a discerning eye, looking for neatness of caulking, clean up, quality of installation and adjustments, and any unintended damage to existing structures.
Also, simply asking customers how the job went would be helpful. This would provide personal and positive closure as well as ensure excellent quality control. As I said earlier, we do like Dan and his wife, Jackie; they are hard working and honest people. We genuinely wish we could have given them a better review.
After reviewing 4 vendors, 3 area vendors and 1 national, I choose Shamrock because of their total guarantee that covers the installation as well as the product for the life of the product. Most other vendors had time limits on either or both workmanship, the install, and/or the product itself. The installers arrived a bit late, no problem, and got right to work. They replaced my old and worn out windows with their brand new product, Milgard Styleline. They finished before the expected time but project completion was delayed as we were forced to wait on the local building inspector. I cannot give the company or the people working for them high enough grades. Would definitely use again or recommend to others.
The windows were ready for install about a week or so earlier than estimated. Easy to schedule install. They did show up about a half hour late, but three man crew worked hard, and took extra care not to damage tile surrounding old window. The job took 3 days, instead of the 1-2 estimated, but I can see where extra work was encountered, particularly in removing the old windows, and replacing damaged backing paper and stucco. Building the bay window had a few complications as well. Everything was done with good attention to detail, and no nasty shortcuts. The crew was polite and pleasant and cleaned up thoroughly afterwards, not dumping any trash in my bins. They did leave a satellite TV cable hanging that was stapled to the old french door frame, as installer didn't have the right clips, but they actually returned a week later to do that, even though they had already been fully paid. I really like the way they matched original molding, even though getting custom matching molding took an extra day.
