"Very responsive, Michael got back to me right away and was able to come out just a few days later. Tom and Jeff were great, they we're prompt, clean and efficient. One of the lights was installed but kept blowing the fuse when turned on, something was wrong with it out of the box, but it was fixed without any further issues. Wonderful! I will definitely use them again."

"Overall the process went well. Bob was very attentive during the planning process (we had architectural drawings from a landscape architect which he seemed knowledgeable in reading) and offered some suggestions. Scheduling and timing was an issue. There were some days when he did not show up at all with no notice. While he was willing to make suggestions once the work started, he did not always initiate suggestions or initiate critiques of my suggested changes. He was very willing to make changes to the work he did. I was not pleased with his assistant , and was frustrated sometimes when his assistant's personal life seemed to seriously affect the work. It was very awkward.

There were some issues after the fact that Bob was, at first, willing to come look at and work on (he replaced about 10 plants that did not survive, without added charge). However, there was an irrigation issue that I mentioned very early on (water pooling in several areas). He came to look, but was not able to fix it. When I called again some months later, we made an appointment, but he never showed up, then we postponed it a few times, and then I did not hear from him again. That was disappointing.

Over all, though, I think Bob is a good, hard, diligent worker. He has a lot of enthusiasm and imagination during the planning process and the initial implementation--this is definitely his strength! However, as progress goes on he seemed to lose interest. He is a REALLY nice guy and, for the most part, easy to work with. I have recommended him to some other folks, but I don't know if they ended up using him. I don't know if the project was just too much and dragged on too long, or what. I do have some smaller projects in the front yard, and I am considering calling him back (maybe he can look at those irrigation issues again, too)."

"My landlord hired EM Electric. I requested a motion light be installed on my patio. Where I enter was super dark. Erik came out and took a look, told me his plan for the best location (turned out perfect), also recommended a garage light sensor to add for small additional charge, I guess was easy to install as he had to do most the work for the patio (drilling hole from garage outlet) so thought to offer this addition. Extra awesome since my complex we don't have automatic openers and I had to fish for the overhead light in the dark. He was clean, courteous, and professional (even moved my stuff in the garage to do the job, then put back after he was done)!
I can't say enough nice things about him! He's such a nice man, communicated well, trustworthy, and was always reachable throughout the process.
I will definitely request his services, as needed in the future."

Exterior Lighting questions, answered by experts

Although security lighting may not deter a determined burglar, its presence will make your property that much less enticing to would-be trespassers. When paired with other types of home security systems like alarms and surveillance cameras, strong lights will better help you and the authorities identify thieves in the instance they attempt to break in or succeed at doing so.

Professionals enhance safety by addressing structural issues, securing loose components, and using non-toxic materials. They ensure compliance with building codes and conduct thorough inspections to identify potential hazards. Their expertise minimizes risks, making the home safer during and after repairs.

Flickering lights, intermittent outages, or physical damage to fixtures signal immediate repair to avoid electrical hazards.

While wet-rated and damp-rated lighting is designed to handle contact with moisture, there’s a difference between the two. Wet-rated lighting is safety-rated to be placed in areas with direct exposure to water, including your shower. Fixtures classed as wet-rated are made with waterproof seals to protect the filament and other electrical components from water and moisture.

Damp-rated fixtures can be used in places with some moisture contact, but not direct exposure. They don’t have the same waterproof seals used in wet-rated fixtures. Damp-rated lighting can be used on your bathroom ceiling or along a wall outside of your shower.

Costs depend on system type, issue severity, and labor rates.
