"Hired Paul to install a full new kitchen of Kemper cabinets I purchased. Paul was super helpful during the planning process- always responsive to questions. During the install Paul and his team were on time each day, professional, courteous and did super quality work. I love how the new cabinets look and function, thank you Paul. Paul did a great job, I would hire him again for installing cabinets!"

"Jimmy promptly contacted us to review our project and provide an estimate. The quote was within what we budgeted for our cabinet refinishing project. He responded to our need for completion and set a schedule for the project. He arrived on time each day and finished the work ahead of schedule. The work was amazing and exceeded our expectations. He fused over each door and did a masterful job with the crown molding. We couldn’t be happier about the finished cabinets. Now new countertops. Jimmy said if we experience any scratches not covered by the new countertops and backsplash he would gladly return and touch up. We highly recommend this licensed and bonded contractor."

"Tony owner of Company is very professional and very detailed in his business. He worked with us every step of way on redoing our kitchen cabinets, master bath cabinets and several areas of custom painting, especially redoing backsplash area on wall below our kitchen cabinets. Tonyâ s prices are very fair. I did a lot of research on pricing and type of work required to refinish my Kitchen cabinets. So! I believe Tonyâ s company is good company to hire."

Cabinet Contractors questions, answered by experts

On average, it costs about 30% to 50% less to reface than to replace custom or semi-custom cabinets. However, the most affordable cabinet replacement projects tend to cost about the same amount as the average cabinet refacing project. These are replacement projects that involve pre-made stock cabinet styles rather than custom designs.

Contractors commonly install floors before cabinets during a kitchen remodel. It’s the standard option when installing hardwood, vinyl, and tile flooring. Installing flooring first helps prevent height misalignment, ensures a seamless appearance, and saves extra flooring work and costs if you plan to replace or remove any cabinets later.

There are three primary ways to attach upper kitchen cabinets to a wall, and installers may use more than one method at a time. The most common method is to drive screws through the back of the cabinets and into studs in the wall behind. Sometimes cabinets are glued to the wall with strong adhesive. Often a combination of screws and adhesive is desirable. The last way is by hanging the cabinets on hardware brackets that attach to the wall before cabinet installation.

In a kitchen installation, starting with the foundation and structural elements before moving on to the finishing touches is essential. Framing, plumbing, and utilities should go first, followed by cabinetry and countertops, then plumbing fixtures and new appliances. Flooring, paint, tile backsplashes, and similar finishing touches should get installed last.

Durability and appearance are the two main drawbacks to installing budget kitchen cabinets, which are often made of less-durable wood or plastic. You're also limited to stock options, meaning you may have a small selection from which to choose.

On the plus side, you can always paint these more affordable kitchen cabinets to make them look the way you want.
