Small jobs welcome

"I have had the pleasure of hiring Artemio for three projects over the course of the past year. One was at my old place at the northeast. He did some work on my sliding glass patio door, along with some plumbing and painting. His work was excellent. And his prices very fair (I got 3 estimates- his price was the best). I hired him to do two other projects since moving to a new place in the southwest. The first involved some repair work on a door. The other involved priming and painting five doors and their sills (all five hadn’t been touched prior to moving in and had scruff marks and scratches). He made them look brand new. What I like about Artemio is he shows up when he says he will, and stays on the job until it is done. His work is always of high quality. He is a five thumbs up in my book! I highly recommend him."

"Very well. Clean job site at the end of each day, always early and great communication. He also installed new hardware in my tub that the plumber had been unable to complete as there was no access from outside. He also repaired a dry rot corner of my house. I highly recommend him."

Mailbox Repair questions, answered by experts

Yes, most couches can be disassembled, especially those that were delivered flat-packed for assembly. To take a couch apart, you can typically detach components like the legs, arms, and backrest. The process often involves removing the cushions, unscrewing the legs, and separating sectional pieces or the seat frame. If you have the manufacturer's instructions, they will provide the clearest guide on which parts are designed to be removed.

Ongoing maintenance of your leather furniture is the only way to prevent it from peeling and cracking. Real leather will peel and crack as it dries out. Leather conditioners are a great way to protect your leather furniture from drying out, and you’ll need to apply it about twice each year. It’s also a good idea to keep abrasive materials away from your leather to prevent cracking and peeling, including belt buckles, shoes, and multi-surface cleaners, especially those that contain alcohol.

Yes, in most cases it’s a good idea to wrap furniture in plastic to protect it from dirt, dust, and damage during storage. However, natural and porous materials such as wood or leather should have breathable fabric covers to prevent moisture damage from condensation. Either way, it’s always important to ensure proper ventilation to prevent moisture buildup, especially in humid climates.

Regularly check and tighten screws, avoid excessive weight, and clean surfaces with appropriate materials to prevent damage.

When deciding whether to repair your leather furniture or not, consider a few advantages and disadvantages:

Pros

  • Less expensive than buying a new piece

  • Extends the life of the leather before replacement is necessary

  • Makes your leather item look like new

  • Some repairs are relatively easy

Cons

  • Some repairs may be costly

  • Damage may not be repairable

  • Repairs may not blend perfectly with the original leather

  • May need to leave the piece with a repair expert
