"We recently hired French Estates Junk Removal Services and was totally blown away by the professional services we received. Not only did they remove our outdoor furniture, punching bag and other miscellaneous items but they even dissembled and removed our king bed and queen size bunk bed in less than a hour. We are 100% satisfied with the service we received and would use them again."

"I am so impressed by their work today. They were professional, efficient, and so helpful! I appreciate his thoughtful consideration of all of our items. He also went above and beyond to make sure the area was cleaner than when he got there! I would thoroughly recommend this on-time junk removal over 1-800-junk!"

I own and operate a dumpster rental service that currently provides 17 Yard Dumpsters, and will soon provide 40 Yard Dumpsters and 10 Yard Dumpsters (lowboys) by the end of 2025. I also offer junk removal for property clean outs if you'd like us to handle the labor. Tree removal is another included service we offer.\n\nThis business was created in order to help a non-profit organization (Water Drop LA). "Janow was hired to haul away furniture items and other items including a steel desk, Beds mattress, Metal file cabinets, outdoor furniture, etc as part of preparation for sale of home and moving out of California. They were reliable, honest, and reasonably priced. When needed they would disassemble furniture such as king and queen sized beds in order to get it out of the house. Laundry machine , dryer, etc. Both Heath and Rick are both outstanding people who have a strong desire to do a great job and have you as their customer happy. I hired them multiple times, for both Junk hauling and Handyman services. To sell my house I needed to get a rain gutter reattached which was 2 stories up, drywall repairs, etc. When my boss needed a large storage unit cleaned out I immediately recommended Janow and they came through in a big way. She has thanked me multiple times as she was very impressed with the work they have done. My highest recommendation! 10/10!!!"

Garbage Collection questions, answered by experts

No, you do not need a garbage disposal to have a dishwasher. A dishwasher will work without one, and while it's rare to see a home with a dishwasher that doesn't have a disposal, it is possible. The two appliances pair well and are often installed together because a disposal simplifies meal cleanup.

However, your dishwasher should not be used as a replacement for a garbage disposal. Subjecting it to continuous food leftovers can lead to major clogs. If you choose not to install a garbage disposal, you should thoroughly rinse your plates or scrape excess food into the trash or a compost pile before loading them into the dishwasher to prevent plumbing issues.

Garbage disposals can be considered bad for the environment due to their electricity usage, but good for the environment because they reduce the food waste sent to landfills. If everyone used a garbage disposal, it would tax the wastewater treatment facilities in that region, but if we had to choose one of the options, we’d say they are a net positive on the environment when used correctly.

These appliances certainly increase the number of things allowed down the drain, but they’re not foolproof. There are several items you shouldn’t put in your garbage disposal, according to manufacturers and technicians. Don’t put coffee grounds down the drain. The same goes for eggshells, potato peels, hard foods, onion skins, and any dry, expandable food. Most importantly, never put grease or oils down the drain.

Most garbage disposals have a reset button that can be triggered with a tool as simple and accessible as your index finger. That said, if you need to perform a more in-depth troubleshooting step, like manually moving the arms inside the unit or rotating the impeller plate, a hex wrench is the most common tool you’ll need. Most garbage disposals come with a hex wrench.

There are many maintenance and repair issues that lead to a malfunctioning garbage disposal. Regular clogs place wear and tear on the motors, leading to an eventual shutdown. Electrical issues at the breaker, wall outlet, or disposal itself can fry the unit. The most common cause is simply a worn-down motor. These motors can only handle so much use before powering down for good.
