Customers say: Quick response

"I have used the company Mammoth Lakes Plumbing for about 15 different projects. I help run the company Duff Construction and I am both a general contractor and property manager, we always rely on his plumbing service for both remodels and new construction projects. The pricing is fair and you get what you pay for with this outstanding service. I will refer this company and continue to use their service for new projects."

"We signed the contract with Verengo 03/07/14 to lease the solar panels. The panels were installed on 4/10/14 and the team was very professional and quick. A few concrete tiles were broken during the installation but they were replaced the next day. There was a code problem that arose when the City came to inspect but again it was corrected (at no cost to us). Everything was approved at the second inspection. On 05/12/14, we were notified that we could flip the switch to activate the panels.  We will be saving approximately $100.00 a month on our electric bill and are very happy with the work done by Verengo.
You can contact Verengo at 1-877-403-4354.

"We have worked with 3 different solar installers at various of our homes over the years. Spreck stands tall among them, in our experience. We worked with Jono to design the system - he was knowledgeable, thorough, and worked within our budget (even with the main panel replacement that we needed to have done, due to the old panelâ s age). Work was done on time, within budget, professionally, and the site was left clean. Two thumbs up!"

"We added solar panels to our home and had a great all around experience with this company. We got top of the line panels at a very competitive price without all of the heavy sales pressure associated with this industry. They answered all of our questions and after 10 months we have a net surplus of electricity being generated by our system. Last year we owed PG&E a $1,000 for electrical usage -- this year ZERO! Thanks Daniel, Emily, Victor, & Ben. Glad to recommend Gold Rush Energy Solutions."

Solar Panels questions, answered by experts

While you can install solar panels by yourself, it can be a complicated process full of lots of manual labor, risky roof work, and knowledge of electrical wiring. Most solar panel installation projects should be reserved for a trained professional—especially if you plan on connecting your panels to the electrical grid rather than for off-grid use, which doesn’t require utility services.

Installing solar panels involves drilling small holes in your roof to secure the solar panel mounting brackets. These brackets hold the solar panels in place and must withstand strong weather conditions so they’re secured into your roof. However, holes and screws are sealed to prevent leaking and further damage.

Yes, it is possible to install solar panels on a tar and gravel roof, but it is not the ideal roofing material for a solar installation. The process requires roof penetrations to install the solar racking system. While installers will seal these penetrations, they still increase the risk of leaks. This risk is higher on tar and gravel roofs, which are often flat. Flat roofs are more prone to leaks than sloped roofs because they can pool water during heavy rain and hold snow for longer periods, exposing the roof to more moisture.

In most states, solar installers need to be licensed and insured as solar professionals, although some states don’t have specific requirements for installers. You can use our state licensing tool to check if an installer you’re considering hiring holds the proper licensing. No matter where you live, a member of your solar panel installation company must be a certified electrician to connect your panels to your home and the electric grid.

Solar well pumps range from needing 200 watts of power to as much as 12,000 watts for heavy-duty pumps. Since the most common and cost-friendly solar panels are 100-watt panels, you’ll need between two and 12 panels. The average is between two and eight panels for standard pumps. Based on the average cost of solar panels ($1 to $1.50 per watt), you’d pay between $200 and $1,800 for your well pump solar panels—not including installation.
