We offer a variety of hardscape and landscape construction services that are customizable to each individual property. Eco Concepts has a stable of tractors and dump trucks, so even though we are a smaller company in comparison to some of the other local outfits, with the help of our heavy equipment, knowledge, and skill sets, we are very capable capable of tackling larger projects. We had him rework stone work in the front yard and put in a stone patio and walk ways as well as a drip irrigation system in the back yard. It all came out so beautifully. We provided the overall design, Jed make several very good suggestions that we incorporated. We did most of the plant selection and he worked on getting the best prices for the majority of the plants. His crew were all very hard working, polite, professional, neat and respectful of our property. They worked fast and efficiently with a high level of quality to their work. The end result is FANTASTIC. We love how the yards look now and once all the plants are fully grown, it's going to be really lush--with a good number of the plants being drought resistant. I will say that Jed/Eco Concepts is in high demand. He was able to work our relatively small project in between much larger projects, which was fine by us as we really wanted him to do the job based on the reviews we read of his work. We were willing to wait til he had an opening and it was well worth the wait. Jed is a really nice guy, very easy to work with, has good contacts and resources for materials. I highly recommend Eco Concepts for landscaping and stone work."

Pacific Coast Termite has a great history serving California since 2007 by co-owners Dennis Wilson and James Grande. Both men agree that a large part of their company’s growth is attributed to word of mouth and referrals along with great reviews and A+ rating with the Better Business Bureau have also helped. Today the company has full in-house wood working divisions, offers comprehensive termite control, rodent control, and attic services such as attic cleaning and TAP pest control insulation to replace old soiled attic insulation.

"Horrible experience, the employees were very poorly trained. They severely underestimated the time to do the job. They sealed holes in vent screens with big globs of unsightly goo. The crawlspace access door wouldn't stay closed do they pried a stepping stone out of the garden and used that to hold it closed. They spit sunflower seed shells all over, including on our front porch furniture. They vacuumed the old insulation out of the attic but there was a leak in their system and it spewed old insulation and rat droppings all over the inside of our garage and on open storage shelves, and they didn't clean it up. They only apply blown-in insulation and our ducts are covered with sheet insulation, so they didn't remove that insulation or the rat droppings on the tops of the ducts. I could go on...."

Painted bricks can be susceptible to spalling, as the paint doesn’t allow the porous material of the brick to breathe, which can trap moisture. Spalling should always be addressed immediately before more serious structural damage occurs.

There are many things to look for when buying a brick house. Here are some of the key things you should pay close attention to.

  • Lintels: Look for cracks, holes, displacement, or corrosion

  • Mortar: Check to see if the mortar is old and crumbling, in need of repointing, or new. Also check to see if the mortar has a professional finish.

  • Walls: Check along each side of the house. If a wall is bowing outward, this indicates a severe issue such as foundation damage or that the walls are ready to fall.

  • Cracks: If there are stair step cracks in the brickwork, this indicates an unstable foundation.

Most of the time, you don’t need to seal brickwork and can save that money for another area of home improvement. But if your brick is cracking or you live in an area with a lot of excess moisture (either in terms of rain or freezes), sealing can extend the lifetime of your home. But, make sure you use a breathable sealant, like siloxane, to allow the moisture to evaporate on its own.
