Small jobs welcome

"We hired Felipe to add rocks to the front of our yard that was being overtaken by weeds. All that I was looking for was to place weed barrier down and add a border around where the rocks would be laid. Felipe came to the house to assess the work and returned renderings the same day. The different design options he provided were impressive, even including an upgrade to the mailboxes. His quote was reasonable. Throughout the process Felipe was so kind asking lots of questions to make sure he understood what we wanted. He even provided different rock samples to choose from. He started on a Monday and finished that same Wednesday. We asked that he also do a similar rock layout on the side of the house for an additional reasonable charge. That work was completed the next day. The family is ecstatic with the results. Comparing the rendering with the final outcome, you can’t tell the difference. Look no further; Felipe is your guy!"

"Mauricio R from Solid Ground Landscaping did a great work at my property, the crew installed a flagstone patio, upgrade the sprinkler system and build 120 LF of picket fence between our properties. He gave us a fair price for the project, but the most important he did the work according to the code. I recommend this company for any landscape project."

"I’m extremely happy with the lawn and garden clean-up service done by Carlos! The maintenance team did an amazing job—everything looks neat, refreshed, and well cared for. They were professional, efficient, and paid great attention to detail, from trimming and edging to clearing out debris and leaving the space spotless. My yard looks better than it has in a long time. Highly recommend their services to anyone looking for reliable and high-quality lawn and garden maintenance!"

"Omar was great on this project to remove some large cactus from a side area in my front yard. He worked very hard to cut everything down as I requested and was timely and did exactly what I asked for, he is a great worker and would use him again for any jobs I needed and also suggest him to anyone I know that needed this type of work."

Sand Rock Delivery questions, answered by experts

The best mulches for trees are wood chips, bark nuggets, or pine straw. Depending on your goals, you may want to avoid using plastic, stone, rubber, or wet grass clippings. Plastic mulch prevents water from reaching the mulched areas of your tree, stones don’t offer any nutritional benefits to the soil, rubber can release byproducts into the soil when it decomposes, and wet grass clippings can lead to rot.

Plastic may prove beneficial in cold climates in the winter, but wood chips are the ideal option for most environments.

Among the most common types of gravel are pea gravel, crushed stone, marble chips, jersey shore gravel, and base gravel. Gravel has different densities depending on whether it’s wet or dry or mixed with sand.

If you are xeriscaping a lawn from scratch, your best bet for preparing the lawn is to work with a xeriscaping specialist in your area. The most common first step to making the transformation, however, will be to remove the turfgrass from your lawn. The subsequent steps will often include amending the soil to support new plants and installing low-drip or drip irrigation systems.

Yes, it is possible to add too little mulch. Anything less than 1 inch will likely result in too little coverage around your plants, allowing weeds to grow through and minimizing the positive effects that a deeper bed of mulch would have, like maintaining proper soil moisture and insulating the ground.

The ideal amount of mulch is the square footage of your desired depth in inches divided by 324. Aim to keep your old and/or new mulch at a depth of no more than three or four inches.
