Customers say: Quality work

"Victor was such a pleasure to work with for all of my home improvements. He was very professional and attentive to details. He made sure that I was happy with the work and helped me find the right solutions. He was able to prep and paint my 3 car garage floor with epxoy, he helped remove some cabinetry and paint several large wall spanning my kitchen/living room, did an abosolutely awesome job scraping down the sides of the house before painting it with some awesome colors, and finally helped me sand, replace parts of, and painted our deck out back. They really did a great job and I hihgly recommend them for anyone looking for a quality paint job. Thanks again for everything Victor and team!"

"Not a whole lot of communication with the employees/boss. One guy showed up and worked alone ALL day the first day. I remembered I had something important to do the next morning and told the employee I was not going to be home. He did not communicate this to the owner and they showed up while I was out of town. They came back the following day and this time it was a team of 2. They worked through about 11 am and said it had to dry they would return between 2-4 that afternoon. They were a no call, no show. I tried calling the owner 2-3 times. My husband called me to pick him up and I couldn't because I was waiting for painters. Finally connected with owner late afternoon. They showed up the next morning and went in to paint and told me they had told the owner they weren't going to make it back the day before and asked said owner to call me (he didn't). I went in to show them some running areas from the day before and they had painted RIGHT OVER the runs. When I pointed it out they got sand paper and sanded over the wet paint they had just applied. I did a final walk through and it looked great when they were finished but when I went to put my blinds back up I found an area at the window where they had handed tools etc out the window and actually dinged and pulled up a small area of the paint. It ended up looking alright but it took 3 days to paint 1 small bedroom."

"Jesus painted my fireplace and it turned out beautiful. He was quick, clean and charged much less that I thought I would have to pay for this job. I'm going to have him come back and repaint my steel front door next month."

Deck Staining questions, answered by experts

Staining or sealing a cedar deck or fence is highly recommended to extend its lifespan and protect it from the elements. While cedar is naturally resistant to mold and mildew, it is not impervious to damage from moisture, sun exposure, splintering, fading, and rot over time. Applying a protective finish creates a shield that preserves the wood's strength and appearance, potentially extending its life by five to 10 years.

When choosing a finish, it's helpful to understand the difference between a sealer and a stain. A sealer sits on top of the wood, whereas a combination stain and sealer soaks into the top layer. Because it penetrates the wood, a stain generally offers better protection against UV damage and rot and lasts significantly longer. For the best results that also preserve the wood's natural color, consider using a near-translucent stain.

To maintain protection, plan on reapplying the stain or sealer every two to three years, either as a DIY project or by hiring a professional.

Stains penetrate wood best when it's cool and dry, so you want to avoid moisture. If the wood is wet upon application, or if it rains before the stain dries, the water will soak into the wood and displace the staining solution. This leads to a flaky and blotchy look, which is the opposite of a sumptuous even coat. Once the stain has fully cured, after about 3 days, rain shouldn’t cause you any problems.

You can refresh a painted deck by either giving it a thorough cleaning or refinishing the deck altogether. Chipped or faded paint, as well as extensive damage, often calls for a new finish. To do this, remove the original coat of paint with a sander and add either a new coat of paint or a stain to protect the wood below.

Yes, you must thoroughly clean your deck before staining. If you don't, dirt, debris, grease, and mildew can get trapped between the wood and the new stain. This not only looks unsightly but also prevents the stain from penetrating the wood properly, reducing its ability to protect the deck from weather and UV rays. As a result, the stain won't last as long or look as good. Any existing mold or mildew left untreated can continue to grow beneath the new stain, potentially leading to wood rot and structural damage. Always wait at least 48 hours after cleaning for the wood to dry completely before applying stain.

It’s best to prime composite decking before painting. This promotes better paint adhesion, helps create a smooth finish, and can mean the paint job will last longer. Always follow the manufacturer’s instructions for application, allow ample primer drying time before painting (typically 24 to 48 hours), and thoroughly clean the deck boards to promote the best adhesion.
