"Great service and attention to detail. I have had a few of their guys out over the years and they’ve always taken great care of the fireplace and chimney and been extra crest with my tile roof, which can be finicky."

"Nigel Hoyt of Your Chimney Sweeps was prompt, professional and efficient. He checked the damper, explained the reason for it to remain open and fixed the problem to ensure it remained open should it inadvertently get closed. Also charged exactly what he said it would be. $69.00 and $15.00 for part. Also put in a longer screw to ensure it remained open per regulation. I would highly recommend Nigel to my family and friends."

Small jobs welcome

"Riley and Angel were punctual and professional. They inspected my old brick chimney before letting me know very clearly what was needed. Riley prioritized the list based on safety concerns. He also told me that work could be done in stages which is what I plan to do beginning with with the flue liner. Very educational with no pressure."

Chimney Liner Installation questions, answered by experts

You shouldn’t install a new vinyl pool liner on top of an old liner as it can cause problems. For instance, once you drain your pool to install the new liner, the existing liner can dry out and become brittle. This can lead to deterioration that affects the condition of the new liner. Other types of pool liners can go directly over old liners safely, but you should always defer to a professional for the best course of action.

Regular cleaning, pH balance, and avoiding sharp objects help prolong its life.

Pool leaks most commonly occur at joints or where different materials meet. The most frequent leak spots include:

  • The Pool Skimmer: Where the plastic skimmer meets the pool's liner or shell.

  • The Pool Liner: Tears can develop in vinyl liners, especially those between 5 and 20 years old. Leaks also occur around the liner's edge.

  • Fittings and Accessories: Areas around return lines, the main drain, and pool lights are common culprits.

  • Pool Equipment: The pump, filter, and filter housing can also leak.

While leaks in underground pipes are less common, they can be costly to fix. It's usually best to check the more common spots before investigating the plumbing system.

You’ll know when it’s time to replace your pool liner because there will be visible cracking, tearing, fading, and/or staining. You may also notice that your pool liner has lost some elasticity, and it may even start to leak. It’s a good idea to call in a pool repair professional to see if a repair is possible and worthwhile. If it is, you might spend a few hundred dollars and get many more years of enjoyment out of your pool rather than spending thousands on a full replacement.

Installation typically takes 4-8 weeks, including site preparation and liner installation.
