My neighbor hired Renova to paint her house around June of 2013 with an Angie's list coupon. They did such a great job, and at such a reasonable price, I called the owner,  Scott, for a quote, and he painted my house for the same price he charged my neighbor.

All the guys at Renova are good people that truly care about the job, your satisfaction, and they are not afraid to go the extra step for you. Scott's brother power washed my house, and he offered to take a look at my garage door unit (one of their many specialties) while his machine was cooling off at the end. He greased up the screw drive, sprayed the springs, and made a quick tweak that solved a sticking issue I have had for years at no charge. The painter, Casey, was also impressive. He took the time to go over what I needed done, and spent the time needed to get the job done right. He is a very skilled and knowledgeable painter, not to mention a hard worker. I was impressed how he took the time and gave me pointers on how to touch up and maintain the house over time. The owner, Scott, is very customer focused. He is wants to ensure your satisfaction with a job well done. There was a small miscommunication on my part, and Scott made it right for a minimal fee. I couldn?t have been happier with the experience and I am telling everyone I know to contact them if they need paint work done... I am a very satisfied customer!!!"

Driveway Gates questions, answered by experts

When making this decision, three essential factors come into play. For budget-conscious individuals, swing gates are the more economical choice. Despite the possibility of both gate types having similar dimensions, many types of sliding gates demand a more intricate opening mechanism and additional components, requiring electrical work for motors and signaling remotes, resulting in higher installation costs.

Ideally, a gate should be able to swing both in and out. However, if it can only open in one direction, it is generally best for it to swing inward. This is often the safest option, especially for deck gates near steps, as you'll want the gate to swing away from the stairs. An inward swing also prevents the gate from opening into a public space, like a sidewalk, and can be more convenient when carrying heavy items like a wheelbarrow into a garden.

There are exceptions, however. The layout of your property may require a different approach. For example, if your property is on a slope, the gate may not be able to swing inward. You should also ensure the gate can open fully without colliding with any objects or blocking access to other areas. For a backyard garden gate where public access isn't a concern, the direction it swings is largely a matter of personal preference. Finally, always check your local building codes, as they may have specific requirements for which way a gate must swing.

In addition to a doorbell camera, you can upgrade your home’s security with several different features. Backyard security, for instance, may include a mix of security cameras, lighting, and fencing. Additional security cameras around your property, as well as a total smart security system with an alarm connected to your smartphone, are also advisable. This could well be worth the cost for the peace of mind alone, but home security systems also lower home insurance costs.

Installation typically takes 1-3 days, depending on the gate type and site conditions.

A security door costs an average of $1,400, but costs can range from $600 for a simple screen or steel door to more than $4,600 for a wrought-iron security door. You can also buy specialized locks separately for $200 to $600. If you decide to hire a pro to install your new security door, you’ll spend around $275 to $425 on labor costs.
