"I had an urgent request to get a permit across the line and Pedro was on his A-game and helped me within hours. Very professional, well documented, etc. Other structural engineers I hired only gave me headaches. I'd use Pedro again any day. Thank you very much, and glad to be in business with you!"

"Shannon arrived promptly at the scheduled time. He was very personable, courteous, and thorough and even developed an immediate relationship with our three big dogs. Shannon is a resident of Maricopa as well as a home owner and very active in our community. It s obvious he takes a great deal of pride in his professionalism and thoroughness. He spent over 3 and one half hours evaluating interior and exterior structures as well as mechanical systems, heating system, plumbing system, grounds and yard, etc. Shannon provided his results in a written report (via PDF format) which we could then forward to our builder. We didn t realize how little we actual knew about our house until Shannon s inspection. All things considered and according to our estimates his visit saved us about $3,000 in potential repairs. We now have the knowledge and comfort of knowing the real condition of our home. We have peace of mind and feel the resale value of our home is secure."

Structural Engineering questions, answered by experts

For a successful structural engineering project in Show Low, start by confirming all required permits and ensuring your plans meet the 2018 International Building Code. Evaluate your site’s unique conditions, like high snow loads and freeze-thaw cycles. Choose a team experienced with Show Low’s climate and soil. Schedule work during milder months, and establish clear milestones to keep communication strong and your project moving forward.

Helpful?

In Show Low, professionals define project boundaries by analyzing property surveys, setback requirements, and any existing easements. They also review drainage patterns, utility locations, and construction access points. By considering how foundation changes or additions might impact neighboring properties and ensuring compliance with local codes, the project scope is clearly established and potential issues are minimized from the start.

Helpful?

In Show Low, structural engineering projects are shaped by heavy snowfall, significant freeze-thaw cycles, and expansive clay soils. Deep frost lines require special attention to foundation design. Local building codes address snow and wind loads, seismic safety, and insulation needs. The age and type of existing construction, as well as site access and seasonal weather, all influence the approach for long-term durability and safety.

Helpful?

During a structural engineering project in Show Low, experts closely inspect the foundation for proper frost depth and soil stability, especially due to the region’s freeze-thaw cycles. Roofs are checked for snow load capacity and ventilation. Load-bearing walls, beams, and floor joists are evaluated for strength and any signs of damage. Site grading and drainage are also reviewed to prevent moisture problems and foundation movement.

Helpful?

Your Show Low home is a strong candidate for a structural engineering project if you notice foundation cracks, uneven floors, or doors that stick—especially in older homes. If you’re planning major renovations, like removing walls or adding heavy features, professional input is essential. Persistent moisture, wood rot, or visible settling are also signs that a structural assessment could help protect your investment.
