Customers say: Quick response

"Shawn is a professional, knowledgeable, and courteous business owner, who truly cares about both customers, and potential customers. After noticing a leak, I called Shawn to see if he could come out and look at it. Unfortunately, due to high volume, he was booked solid for longer than I was able to wait. Even though he KNEW I wasn't able to give him my business, Shawn spent about 45 minutes talking with me about my options, what I could do on my own while waiting on a roofer, and even recommended some other roofing companies (who are his competition), that he felt were reputable. If that's not an example of someone who actually cares, I don't know what is. Keep up the good job my man, we need more people like you!"

Deck Cleaning questions, answered by experts

Yes, you can draw your own deck plans in many cases. However, you must know your local building codes and be familiar with carpentry principles. Even then, it's always best to run your plans by a professional contractor with experience building decks, whether you choose to DIY some of the build or not.

The “best” material is in the eye of the beholder, as each common decking material boasts its pros and cons. Poured concrete is the best budget-friendly option, but composite wood brings high-grade aesthetics without breaking the bank. Wood is the most traditional material, but it requires more maintenance than some other materials. In other words, do your research before settling on a deck material to find the one that’s best for your pool.

Composite decking requires a solid foundation, substructure, or subframe to ensure stability. This base is typically composed of posts, beams, joists, and footings. The frame's joists can be built from various materials like composite, plastic, timber, or metal, as long as the base can support the deck's weight without shifting. A professional deck builder might recommend installing the frame on a solid concrete base for added durability. The final design and materials for the substructure will depend on your budget, the type of deck, and environmental conditions.

A deck is typically attached to a house and accessed via the back door. Decks are usually constructed from wood or composite materials. A terrace, on the other hand, is a raised platform that can be attached to or detached from the house and is typically made from a hard-paved material, such as paving stones. Terraces can be built on the ground or on the roof of a home.

PVC decking can get slippery when wet because it’s made from plastic. However, composite and wood decking can also be slippery when wet. It’s best to wear shoes with grippy soles when walking on a wet deck, no matter the material, and to be extra cautious not to slip and fall down.
